The worst practice for getting to see a GP! Ive not known any other practice like this! I’ve tried for 4 months and have now managed to get an appointment in May! I’ve been sent to Maidstone Hospital, where I met other Greensand’s patients, all of us clogging the system up, and the doctors there shaking their heads in disbelief when I show them the texts we receive from Greensand’s telling us to go there!! The paramedic I saw at Greensands back in December, sent me to hospital urgently stating it’s quicker if I get someone to take you rather than call an ambulance! It’s just disgraceful that this is the state of Greensand’s and the NHS overall!! I could go on and on but hey ho!

The kindness and compassion and dedication and expertise you showed during that appointment was beyond what I had expected. It led me to conclude that you have had specific training in this area of mental health or if you haven’t, you are extremely naturally gifted with these skills. Not only were you able to show professionalism and respect that resonated with our teenage son but you showed us, his parents, the same.

My post-surgery recovery process was perfectly handled by the nursing and admin staff at Greensands. They made me feel safe, comfortable, and confident along my road to recovery. I know I'm in safe hands should I need care again.

Avoid this practice, it’s totally impossible to get an appointment, there are so many barriers. You are always palmed off on to other Heath care professionals - there are no doctors it seems. Terrible

Dear Patient, Thank you for your comments. Although, unfortunately you have not provided us with full details, we would still like to respond as we feel it is important to acknowledge any patient feedback. Research has proved that 70% of patients presenting with health conditions or illnesses do not need to be seen by a GP, but an appropriate alternative clinician, such as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). We are fortunate at Greensand Health Centre to have a wide breath of experience and skills in our ACP team who support our 5 GPs, and all of whom have specific specialities enabling us to provide optimum patient care. This is in addition to other specialists in the areas of MSK, paramedics, mental health, learning difficulties and social prescribing. Unlike many other surgeries whom may find it difficult recruiting to the traditional GP model, due to the well reported national shortage of GPs, we have tried to be innovative and embraced the challenge of growing and developing a varied, and highly skilled team as mentioned above. The above also means accessibility to see an appropriate clinician, should be that much easier and patients will be able to obtain an appointment when they need to see someone one, albeit urgently or within 2 weeks of requesting for non-urgent matters. We would also mention the simplest way to contact us for an appointment, or any administration enquires is via the Accurx online consultation tool. Also, please remember our Reception Team can always assist too. My husband had a health issue which needed a prescription urgently as we were going away for a few days. The prescriptions and operations team could not have been more helpful in advice and support and pulled out the stops to get him a very swift review which enabled him to be prescribed what he needed. They were helpful, friendly, sympathetic and a credit to the surgery - thank you so much.

I have always received wonderful service from Greensand’s & appropriate appointments are always made. I’m sure like many surgeries and being NHS in general, the staff feel the pressure and try their very hardest to satisfy each patient and I really appreciate the help I have received each time from the surgery, so thank you.

We recently changed Doctors and moved to Greensand Surgery. They are always so helpful when needing an appointment. After my daughter becoming very unwell recently they were exceptionally kind, caring and thorough. At a worrying time I couldn’t have wished for a better person to take care of us. No one ever wants to go to the Doctors, but if you attend Greensand you will be in good hands! Thank you for your kindness.

After my 15 year old son experienced a sudden an very unexpected bout of I'll health , I can not fault the service at Greensands Surgery, Maidstone. From the receptionist to the doctors and everyone in-between our son and family felt very well supported and looked after. We can not thank you enough.
