I had injured myself coming off my scooter nearby and the nurse that saw me was so so lovely cleaning and dressing my hand. What a lovely human :)

Had an invasive test which is usually painful for me but the consultant was extremely nice and explained everything. It was a less uncomfortable experience than usual and done very quickly.

I have only ever had excellent interactions with this surgery. The staff have always been kind and attentive, the text triage system works really well, and I find service to be prompt. I am very happy with the service I receive from De Beauvoir GP and want to say thank you!

It’s a nice surgery and everyone is very polite and accommodating. The nurse was lovely, very professional and made a less than pleasant activity as pleasant as possible.

I was in a lot of pain with a trapped nerve in my lower back, I rang the De Beauvoir Surgery and was called back by the Doctor for a triage call not long after. I was invited in for an appointment where the Doctor carried out several tests around my mobility and pain levels, after which I was prescribed pain medication and anti inflammatory's which have made a massive difference. She also gave me several exercises to do and advice on what to avoid etc. A great experience with my local surgery and very helpful doctor who was able to diagnose and help me immediately. Thank you.

I went into the appointment to restart investigations into the cause of my chronic pain. The doctor I saw immediately said that I'm never going to find the cause of the pain. I felt they did not show any emotion, did not preface it with anything to indicate hard news and then proceeded to just stare at me as I sobbed at this proclamation. They offered no comfort, no information about the prospect of living with pain for the rest of my life. They just told me they would refer me to a pain clinic. They also referred me to another specialist for testing of some condition I had never heard of, didn’t explain it, only for me to have to research later to find out it’s a pretty serious condition. Furthermore, I spoke to this doctor about pain management and about how I struggle to take Codeine to manage pain, especially as it impairs my ability to work safely. Rather than listening to this, they told me that I could double the dosage I am currently taking and would have to deal with the side effects. Living with chronic pain for 20 years hasn’t been easy, but one of the most demoralising experiences was this interaction with this doctor. My agency was utterly taken away from me, I felt humiliated and powerless.

I went for my check up, and found that the healthcare worker was fantastic. He was empathetic and professional helping me to feel welcome and giving me food dietary advice. I feel strongly that he is an excellent role model for the NHS. I was very impressed.

I visited the pharmacist, she was very helpful and professional. Reception staff were also very helpful and polite. However, I was shocked to see there were no toilet facilities in reception. There are clearly toilet facilities within the original reception area that was partitioned off. Why would you block toilet facilities in a GP surgery? This makes zero sense, especially as you have patients visiting with bladder and bowel issues daily. This causes unnecessary anxiety for patients and lacks common sense. Please reopen the original entrance with patient toilet facilities. I understand there are toilets within the building, but they can only be accessed if a receptionist is present and grants entrance in a timely manor. Having to be granted permission to access toilet facilities within a GP surgery is ridiculous. Please correct this as soon as possible. Thank you.

We are sorry to hear of your concerns and the area was closed down due to the covid pandemic and we had to limit access. During that time we could only allow patients through into the clinical area with a staff member to ensure patients did not wander into other rooms. The toilet area has since been re-opened and is accessible to all. Thank you for raising your concerns.
