  2. Review titled Blood pressure readings

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I received a text from Parkview m Medical centre, asking me to take my blood pressure at home and told to do it 3 x times and text the lowest reading to them. Firstly why only the lowest?? Is this to reach the GP target requirements in order for the surgery to receive full payment from the nhs because if you put in a higher result you may have the reading will not be deemed as being under the required range for the surgery to reach their targets and therefore not get full payment from the nhs This isn't right , what if my blood pressure comes up high??? In the text all it says is keep taking your medication! Seems they are not interested if it's high and giving further advice, therefore this puts patients at risk of strokes and heart attacks , they are also presuming that patients have a home blood pressure monitor or that they can afford to buy one ! It's a disgusting tickbox exercise, motivated by money with no care for the patients health at all. The CCG should be looking into this and I intend to write to them.. If your Blood pressure is high they should be dealing with this and managing it, seems very dishonest to me. They have a duty of care to all their patients and I'm very concerned that the surgery are sending out these texts to patients. Surely if you have high blood pressure readings they should be recording these in your medical records for reference as to what treatment, medication doses etc should be given. This is a loop hole asking for the lowest in order to get paid.

  3. Review titled Unprofessional GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was advised to carry out a non fasting blood test and I collected the form from the Surgery. It clearly stated ' non fasting' confirming what stated by the GP on the phone. I went for the blood test after lunch and the nurse told me it was a fasting lipids test and that the result could be altered if I had food. I have to repeat the test. Very unprofessional GP

  4. Review titled Impossible to get any appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

This is the worst GP I have ever registered. This is absolutely impossible to get any appointment for any of our family member. We are 4 in our family. In last 6 months we couldn't get any appointment. When ever we call they do not receive the phone call. My 3 years old daughter is sick for last 4 weeks and she needs to be seen by a doctor as her cough is getting worse. This is not an emergency that we can take her to hospital emergency. She needs to be examined by the GP but this GP completely ignoring the duty of care and the responsibility they must show to their patients.

  5. Review titled Terrible appointment booking system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by CG1 - Posted on 24 November 2022

Trying to book an appointment in advance means a 6 week wait. Only offer on the day book over the phone. Won't allow you to go to the surgery to book in person. I made 25 calls in a 20 minute period to be told none left and go to a walk in. Absolutely disgusting treatment of patients who genuinely need to see a gp.

  6. Review titled Impossible to get an emergency appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

Not happy at all with the service. I’ve been trying to book an emergency appointment for 3 days in a row, apparently the only option is to call at 8am. I do call at 8am on the dot, but the lines are either engaged or it rings until I get cut-off. Now, this is a very unfair telephone system, which does not allow the caller to stay in a queue in order of call. It cuts-off after 2-3 minutes and then have to call again. For 3 days, by the time I’ve managed to get through to them, around 8:10-8:15am, all the emergency same day appointments were gone. Symptoms are not considered for priority. They may end up seeing patients who might be able to wait for a routine appointment and not providing care to those who need it most. Does one need to hope to be lucky? I’m shocked they still do not offer an online consultation service for patient to send their query, so requests for appointment can be triaged and prioritised accordingly. The Practice should really consider revising and updating their appointment/booking system and telephone system urgently!

  7. Review titled Poor appointment system

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is impossible to book a face to face appointment. I am experiencing serious health problems and called the Surgery many times with no availability in the medium term...and then I had to go private and pay for that. Being told they only release 12 appointment a day. Went there in person before 8 am and started calling to see if it rings to find out that it is impossible that at 8.30 they are all released and the line is always busy. Very bad service. Health service shouldn't be left on your lucky chances to get the line free....appalling

  8. Review titled Appalling appointment booking system

Everyone has to call at 8am to fight for appointment, so you can never get through as the line is always engaged. They'll eventually pick up, after you've been on hold for half an hour, only to tell you that all the appointments are taken! At best, they may offer you an appointment a month later, by which time you most likely won't need it anymore!
