    My father has been attempting to schedule an appointment for weeks, only to be met with the same response every time he calls: no availability and a suggestion to try again at 8am the next day. Despite his worsening symptoms and persistent efforts, the receptionists show no empathy and offer no solutions, just a dismissive "try again tomorrow" attitude. This lack of consideration is unacceptable. There needs to be a priority system in place for patients who have repeatedly tried to get an appointment.

    Dear Patient Representative, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your father was not able to get an appointment. Appointment requests are triaged and prioritised according to need. It is very possible that we did not have any more appointments on the day for your father. I would suggest that you ask your father to call again and request a call back and someone in my team will call him back and arrange an appointment for him at a time best suited for him.     Both the receptionist and the doctor that we saw at The Maltings practice went over and above to attend to my dad’s needs. All this despite the terrible pressure they are under.

    I would like to express my great appreciation for the support and assistance I receive from everyone I contact at this Practice. Every time the help I get is faultless but I had an experience today which went far beyond the help one would reasonably expect. I need to have a hearing test at the Hospital but must have a preparatory procedure. On explaining this to the practice Secretary she agreed to arrange for the referral after the preparatory work. There would be no need for me to take any further action and she would ensure everything was done in sequence. It was complex and I do not explain it well but in essence the Practice has taken it all out of my hands and made it all very easy for me. You do not often get this these days and I just wanted to express my gratitude. Well done the Winstree Practice.

    Currently to book an appointment to speak to the gp on the same day I have to phone up at 8am. Invariably the call involves around 25-40 minutes on hold in a queue. For me due to the nature of my job, and I suspect many others who also are at work at this time it is an unworkable system. To call in at 8am I have to take the whole morning off work. As to booking online,this isn't an option if you want to speak to its gp the same day, as usually it gives an appointment around 7-10 days in the future. Honestly, this a rubbish system that penalises anyone who for whatever reason is not available at 8am, and is making it extremely difficult for me personally to actually deal with my ongoing health problems.

    Dear Mr Hill We are sorry you are disappointed with the appointment system, we now have a new telephone system that allows you to press a call back button to prevent you from having to hold on.     I am working in a residential care home. I have always had an excellent experience with all GP's and NP's/ANP's at this Practice Surgery. They are all very professional and are beyond expectations. They have always been very helpful and kind with any queries or medical concerns raised regarding our residents. We always got the appropriate medical support and treatment when needed for our residents, and any referrals needed have been done accordingly to the specialized departments. All staff (GP's, receptionists, NP's, ANP's) are doing a wonderful job. The GP's and NP's/ANP's are doing regular visits for their residents, always ensuring the residents have everything they need for the management of their symptoms and for their comfort. They are very supportive of the palliative care residents and doing also regular reviews. The healthcare professionals at this Surgery are very experienced, and we are very proud to be working with them. I highly recommend this GP Practice.

    I am the manager of a care home in the area and have worked alongside Winstree Medical Practice for the last 10 years. In this time, we have had a truly excellent level of service from reception, GPs, Prescriptions and the Nurses who have a fantastic understanding of the people we support, and they will make excellent reasonable adjustments to meet their needs and understands how challenging a medical environment can be!!! During the pandemic, there were no interruptions in the line of duty, and the weekly wards were face to face when most of the others were completed via a video call. The professionalism, empathy and kindness is second to none!!!

    After I spent 45 minutes on the phone, starting at 8am, I couldn't get an appointment, being g told to call again Monday at 8am, which again will be the same thing. And I am working, I can't take a day off just to.make an appointment! And even if you manage to get an appointment, you are not told at least an aproximativ time if appointment, you have to stay whole day at home waiting,or being caught by the call in a public place and forced to talk your problems in public. I find your system extremely frustrating. I leave with a tummy pain since August 2022, continously, and can't get any help

    Dear Doina Petrovici We are sorry you disappointed with the telephone appointment service. We have updated our telephone systems with the effect October 2023. You can know know your number on the queue and and press a call back button if you do not want to wait. You will usually get a call back in a reasonable time and our patients have found this service very useful. As fed back to use by our patients participatory group (PPG).     Had a few health issues recently the Doctor and staff helped me, they followed up bloods, meds, and health reviews, my partner has also had a few health problems he was given the same treatment, would not change my surgery for anyone. We are so lucky to have such a great surgery. From the reception staff , Hca, nurse, Doctor and everyone else who is working there, from all of my family I thank you all. X

    I recently transferred over from Ambrose Avenue who had not been able to offer me any kind of appointment, even a phone call for 3 months. I booked a phone call appointment online for the next day. I was phone and assessed my a nurse practitioner and told to call at 8am the next day to see their Menopause doctor. . I called the next day and was 29th in the queue, this was then answered within ten minutes and an appointment was made for that afternoon. The doctor was lovely who booked me for blood tests in the following days which I had yesterday. I can’t tell you how much better I feel knowing I can get doctor help if necessary. I have found all the staff to be pleasant and helpful too.
