My experience with Aveley Medical centre has been good however I do have an issue with repeat prescriptions Why can’t we use the NHS app to order our prescriptions it makes life easy and is quick . Now we need to E-mail or visit the surgery , I was told we could phone but now have been told no you need to E-Mail ! Why cant they get a system and stick to it .

  6. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have read the reviews on this practice and I struggle to find a bad word to say about them. Always really helpful (maybe not bluebell) and really friendly. I’ve always been listened to and the receptionists are always polite and really helpful. I see a particular doctor as I prefer a female member of staff and she always goes above and beyond for me which yes does result in often waiting over an hour but I’d rather that then have a doctor that didn’t care. I often hear people moaning about how long they have waited while sitting in the waiting room but i think the fact that they have a face to face appointment should be enough!! Lots of practices are still not seeing people!!Continue the good work Aveley Medical Centre!!

  7. Review titled Very poor practice on over the phone requests

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Brian Titchiner - Posted on 15 February 2023

I was advised, today my medical review required a further blood test, yet my review is booked for the 22nd of this month. No one advised prior to this I needed a further blood test. The rep was unable to say why the test was needed, and whilst understanding to point, just continued to repeat she was just a member of staff. The practice manager was in a meeting. On going down to the surgery, a very apologetic representative said the blood request was non urgent, and simply a routine test in 3mths, and the practice manager was not in a meeting but in fact gone home! The upshot is despite being closed for Staff training on a regular basis, no has thought to read a report, and advise a patient they need a blood test and text them, or in my case no worries pick it up in a couple of months. Not exactly rocket science just good practice. Sad to say this is not an isolated incident

  8. Review titled Improvement

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Having previously left an honest review of the practice that was non complimentary, I believe in giving credit where it is due. I sent an email on 4 Jan 2023 as I am feeling quite unwell and COPD was not helping with my breathing. I received a response and medication the very next day. Thank you Aveley Medical Centre, hopefully I will make a speedier recovery now.

  9. Review titled Horrendous

I am a Carer for mum and have to deal with this place and without a shadow of doubt that this is the worst Surgery that I have ever had to deal with. Communication is awful, when you talk to someone other than Receptionists, Triage for example they are down right rude. They never follow up on a condition ask for medication reviews with patients or have any type of on-going monitoring of someone’s condition, or ever seem to come and review a patient if they are unable to attend the surgery. They don’t even want to deal with in any depth any unusual conditions and I personally have been asked what I think they should do next regarding medication.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Guys hospital wrote to surgery asking GP to prescribe a new medication on 18 August. Hadn't received it at end of September despite phone call requesting it. Text to say meds were ready when collected totally wrong then a call the next day saying not to take it. Medication phone call was a day late.Got to see GP last Monday for a foot and leg infection prescribed antibiotics and referred to DVT clinic told to go back if when course of tablets run out and still have the complaint.Phoned today as still have the problem told I have to go through the Triage system to speak to anybody. Had text later in morning requesting a photo of leg I sent this immediately no reply as yet so antibiotics have run out and there will be no continuity of medications.
