Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Appointment was agreed for same day as my call to the surgery. Thorough examination of the problem by the GP, with same day referral to the hospital for further investigation and treatment. Everyone was very professional and thorough. A very positive experience. Thank you all.

have always found reception staff helpful and friendly. Aways have been able to see a doctor or nurse and prompt telephone calls back when needed. nothing to complain about - given how stretched practices are

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We have had over 6 weeks of our three children being poorly with general childhood illness’. Each time we’ve asked to see a dr the receptionists have been helpful and accommodating and the Drs and Nurses we have seen have been thorough and reassuring. We really appreciate the service from your whole team. Thank you

Review titled Unprofessional reception staff
Rated 1 star out of 5

My family and I have been at this practice for many years. Overall, the doctors and nurses are generally ok. However, the reception staff are almost always rude and have no patience. I have no idea why, but reception staff speak down to patients, they are often condescending and show no empathy. Reading some of the comments, it seems that this is a common recurrence and patients at this practice would be tremendously grateful if reception staff could be nicer, more courteous and treat patients with dignity. We know the NHS is under awful pressures but showing kindness does not take much more time. Please could further training be provided to ensure professionalism is retained with reception staff?

West Street Surgery welcomes patient feedback, both positive and negative as it provides a valuable insight into our services from the patient’s perspective and can inform service improvement. Our Reception Team is constantly striving to help our patients and although there are some negative feedback there is also a huge amount of praise for the Reception Team. They work tirelessly under immense pressure so unfortunately there may be an off day and I can only apologise if you felt they were not as patient as you would have liked.

Review titled Frustrating
Rated 2 stars out of 5

October 2021, I have spoken to a GP about my concern regarding the possibility of having obstructive sleep apnoea due to enlarged tonsils. I was told that a referral will be made to ENT and sleep clinic. I have been very patient in waiting because I am aware of the back logs that covid caused. February 2022, I phoned to follow up the referrals since I haven’t heard from either GP or hospital. To my disappointment, I was told that there was no referral made and that I need to book another GP appointment again. I booked another appointment and every time, I was given an appointment but on the day of my phone appointment, I have always received a text message saying that GP has been trying to contact me but no one was answering. There were no call logs on my phone which clearly mean that no one tried to phone me. Whenever I call reception, I am always given an appointment and the same thing happens again. They do have my correct mobile number but for some reason the GP always fail to reach me because there was “no answer”.
