Tried to phone surgery on the 9/04/2024 and got the recorded message of you are number 9 in the queue but after 45mins i was still waiting,i had just finished my second lot of antibiotics and needed more help as im still ill and my breathing is bad i then emailed the surgery 3 times and was told my message would be passed to my doctor,on top of this im being refused blood tests at this surgery and told to go to the walk in center or hospital when the surgery is only 200meters away from my house, this surgery operates with 2 parttime doctors on one doctor who is never seen it also has a huge turn over of staff,i find it discusting that doctors are over paid receptionists who prefer to prescribe over the phone then see you face to face, the nhs needs to sort its house out asap before more people die, this surgery needs taking to task and start doing the job they are paid to do although its strange the surgery is always empty when i can visit yet car park is full,if things are not sorted in surgerys like this many law suits will follow

  2. Review titled Awful practice.

When you telephone, I appreciate that the person answering needs to know a certain amount of information in order to know with whom to make you an appointment, GP or nurse, etc. But when you inform them that you have already tried over the counter medicines and they haven't helped, that you are having a very severe reaction to something, it is utterly ignorant of them to just tell the person on the phone to go to a pharmacist (who can only sell over the counter items which you already informed them did not help) and not even put a query through to a qualified nurse or GP!! They are being gatekeepers and potentially leaving someone at risk. The fact that you can never get an appointment with a GP because the appointments are all booked up for the next 4 weeks!! Yet if by some miracle you do manage to ever get an appointment, there is barely anyone in the surgery waiting to be seen! The surgery used to be good but in the last year they have gone very much downhill. Very quickly. Perhaps because the only GP that used to listen to what you were actually saying, left last year. The ones there now are not caring, they don't listen to what you're saying in any appointments. They fail to chase referrals after saying that they will, which means you are left without treatment for months or even over a year. The nurses are wonderful, if you can get past a gatekeeper to get an appointment. Just an awful practice. Would not recommend at all.

  3. Review titled Would recommend

Have recently needed to make an appointment for my newborn - the practice was able to arrange an appointment to be seen face to face by a GP on the same day. Receptionists were friendly and helpful. Always have a quick reply to messages sent via online form. Practice was quick to amend a prescription (change needed due to unavailability of prescribed medication at local pharmacy). I cannot fault the practice to date.

  4. Review titled Extremly Poor Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Trying to get a appointment is very hard. All the Surgery wants to to do is send you to other Surgeries several miles away ! I tried yesterday to make a appoinment for that day. I was called back today offered one for tomorrow at Lionwood Road 3.4 miles away when I live very close to Old Catton Surgery. I do not drive its two buses or Taxi ride away to Loinwood. I am an older Lady over 60 not feeling well this is an unexceptable service. This is not the first time I have been Farmed out last time was sent 6 miles to Costesssey ! Its really no use to me. Feeling very disappointed let down yet again ! Something needs to change and soon. Its got to be the Walk in centre for me this time not my own GP whom I requested to see. Surely this is wrong. If you are considering this practice do not bother !

Good afternoon Christine, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for the Practice, I'm sorry to hear of your upset at the service. We are very sorry to hear you feel let down by the service. If you wish to talk about your experience to see if we can help you further we are always happy to listen and see if any changed can be made to assist you in future. All practices in Norwich have access to the service in which you were offered an appointment, which is the Improved Access Service. The locations are based at the sites (Roundwell and Lionwood) which are both on main bus routes with at least one of them being within 10mins drive time of each of the 22 practices in Norwich. We use this in addition to offering appointments at the Practice as it means we can get patients seen quicker, usually the same day or next day. If you are not able to attend either of these sites please inform us at the time and we will be able to offer you the next available appointment at the Practice. Again, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss this further. Many thanks and best wishes Christina Easter | Assistant Practice Manager

  5. Review titled Not good giving appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My doctor is very good indeed but the GP itself is bad. I had a. Appointment for blood test since three weeks ago and hours before it I received a message with cancellation of it giving me an option to re arrange another one in four weeks time that made 7 weeks waiting. What if I have something pretty bad? If you don’t notice yet the Covid-19 is already controlled. Don’t use it as an excuse

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to provide this review, we are very sorry you feel this way about the service offered. Unfortunately the person you were due to see was unwell and so we had to cancel the appointments at very short notice and you were offered the next available one at the Practice. We pride ourselves on being able to offer as many services as possible from the practice, but at times such as this when we encounter periods of sickness or absence you may be requested to attend alternative locations if we are not able to accommodate you within the required times frame, such as the Walk In Centre and the Phlebotomy department at the NNUH. If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact me at the Practice and I would be happy to listen to your concerns. Many thanks, Christina | Assistant Practice Manager
