  2. Review titled Doctors that read notes and listen to you.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have recently changed doctors after we moved. I had heard a lot of negative comments re this practice so was reluctant to change to here. The first time I went to the surgery I had Dr S and he actually had read my notes and listened to how I was feeling. I had been having tests for years and getting worse. He got to the root of my problems and organised more tests, plus support from OT which has been amazing. Whilst true, you may have to wait a long time to get through on the phones, it's worth it when you get through and get to see or speak to a GP who takes time and is brilliant at their job. The reception staff are always kind and they are working in difficult conditions as there is so much building going on and it's getting busier and busier. All the doctors have always been so kind and helpful to me. Thanks for listening and for all your help.

  3. Review titled Avoid this surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

Waterbeach surgery will only schedule telephone consultations, refusing to make appointments for face to face. Anything in person will only be arranged on the day - if you are lucky as all slots get booked within 5 minutes of telephone lines opening. When having telephone consultations doctors are unaware of patients’ medical history when discussing long term conditions. Patients seem to be viewed as an inconvenience. Avoid this practice and go elsewhere if you can.

  4. Review titled Prompt response and comprehensive care

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I contacted the GP practice in the morning and found myself 42nd in line. After a thirty-minute wait, the receptionist told me that a doctor would call me back that day. True to their word, the doctor called back, had a short talk with me, and scheduled an appointment for me within the hour. The consultation was detailed, ending with a prescription and referrals for more help from specialised NHS services that I needed. Overall, my experience with the practice was largely positive, showing their dedication to patient care despite some problems with administration.

  5. Review titled Do something with it!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Rosalind Franklin House is the only place you can register in Waterbeach and is one of few 2-stars GP surgeries on Google Map. They have cancelled online booking system in the 21st century and only provide one hour window each morning for making appointments though phone call. Patients queue for ages to get a chance. If you are lucky enough to reach a human being, most time they just arrange the doctor to call you back. When they call you back, they can't even wait 2 minutes for you to pick up the phone. You should just avoid living in Waterbeach, if you are old or long-term sick people.

  6. Review titled Wonderful end of life support

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I just wanted to thank the surgery for all they did for my mum as she entered the end of her life last year. It was an incredibly difficult time but the surgery dealt with our requests swiftly and with great compassion. They referred us to "Arthur Rank Hospice at home" which was an incredibly service and the surgery continued to support us and provided medication in a timely fashion. Thank you

  7. Review titled Complaint

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Rob Beer - Posted on 11 April 2023

Telephoned this morning ( 11th April) at 08.30am and was told by the recorded voice message that I was number 29 in the queue, which may indicate there is another telephone number that can be used to contact the surgery, to make an appointment to see the GP. Apparently the surgery does not open until 08.30am, then how at 08.30am can I be number 29 in the queue?

  8. Review titled Not the excellent GP surgery it was before being taken over

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 September 2022

Doctors are either part time or locums, therefore it is rare to speak to (let alone see) the same doctor twice. Accordingly, it is impossible to develop the working relationship between doctor and patient fundamental to General Practice. Since the practice take-over, this important aspect has deteriorated significantly to the point of being non-existent - a formerly excellent family practice staffed by doctors who knew their patients (and vice versa) is now little more than an impersonal call centre. I am uncertain who is to blame for this but it certainly isn't doctors, who have been driven to despair (and worse) by inhumane work expectations, including an overload of largely unnecessary bureaucratic paperwork. We are lucky at least to have access to a qualified GP, but that is where it ends. Sad, very.

  9. Review titled Patient’s health is not important

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 July 2022

This place should be closed because they do not do serve their mission. They have one purpose: to get rid of a patient. A lot of empty admin, but in the end you are left without any help. It is impossible yo get an appointment, they do not call as planned, GP will not call back. Terrible place, very unprofessional and they simply don’t care.

  10. Review titled Useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 May 2022

Had a phone consult with a Dr who knew nothing about me, couldn't help me and stated she would make a face to face appointment with another doctor for a few days time, even gave me a time and day! Turn up only to find the appointment had not been made - and now I've been given an appointment with the very same useless doc who couldn't help in the first place. Making an appointment in advance is impossible, with months of waiting time and the only solution offered is to "call in the morning". Despite being closed down for a while, this practise has not improved at all. Doctors are either part time or locums, you end up having to explain everything from scratch again, there's no chance of developing a working relationship for long term conditions and half the time they get repeat prescriptions wrong!
