  1. Review titled A caring and efficient experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nick Prichard - Posted on 11 March 2024

I cannot praise the doctors, nurses and staff enough, During the last 4 months my wife was deteriorating bodily and on every occasion I needed asssistance the nurses treated her with outstanding gentleness and compassion. When, later, she was physically unable to attend, a practice doctor came to my home assessed my wife and within a week, a hospital bed with air mattress had been installed in our bedroom, nurses had attended and a carer system had been implemented. During the next few weeks, until death, the care she received was wonderful both from the NHS and the carer company. The compassion we received extended to the pharmacy with the speed they fulfilled prescriptions at short notice. The press in this country are quick to malign the NHS but never compliment them as it is not newsworthy. As I have said above, my experience through the whole of this encounter is praise of the highest order to everyone and I thank them all, with my whole heart, for all they did for my dearest wife and I. 3. Review titled Supportive & Understanding

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a call with my GP today about an upcoming surgery I was worried about. The Doctor was really open and made me feel very comfortable about the questions & concerns I had, I was so relieved after the call & really appreciative for that. GP's get a lot of bad press but every GP I have spoken to so far at Fletton surgery have been really caring & treated me as an individual. Thank you.

  4. Review titled Receptionist lacking.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Bernard Pink - Posted on 17 August 2023

Yesterday (16th Aug 23) I plucked up courage in order to get a doctors appointment and phoned this surgery. Remarkable I got thro after just 12 mins or so. Conversation went something like this. Receptionist: goodmorning what's the problem. I replied that I had a chest infection and needed antibiotics. Recepionist: how long have you had it. I replied since Sunday. Receptionist: have you tried any over the counter medication. I said I was taking Paracetamols. Receptionist: your first port of call is with a pharmacy. Now having been turned away previously whilst suffering a serious chest infection, and denied antibiotics such that I suffered the symptoms for more than 3 weeks , I gave up on this conversation and replied ok. Later that morning I attended a pharmacy, and after answering the pharmacists questions I was advised that I needed antibiotics. I then related my phone call with the receptionist. I know that antibiotics would clear my infection within 3 or 4 days. But like the last occasion I'm being forced to suffer my symptoms for at least 2 to 3 weeks, should I survive. The receptionist does not appear qualified to triage persons phoning in. This initial contact is extremely important and further thought should be given by the doctors in order to assess how it could be improved. The "walk in centre" is looking more attractive than ever.
