I joined you surgery over two weeks ago after I'd say a not so good service with my last Gp practice. Signing on process was instant. Very impressive. Appointment for diabetes booked and seamless. I had a lovely call from a nurse yesterday who discussed my results. She was perfect and very helpful and encouraging. What I am impressed with is that she cared about the new medication that she was prescribing and the side potential side effects. A plan for a follow up has been put in place. I'm not used to this kind of service but one that I feel patients should have out of a doctors surgery. Please can you thank this lovely lady for an amazing 👏 job.

  2. Review titled wonderful environment and polite staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

my 3 year old daughter came in on Friday for her pre school vaccinations, she was greeted by the reception staff who spoke to her as well as my self, and that made her smile, she then took a seat with me and enjoyed looking at the fish, telling me all sorts about the fish, shortly after she was seen by one of the nurses and a student who again spoke to her as well as myself and made her smile, they talked me through what they would be doing the gave her her vaccination that she didn't like, however did enjoy the sticker and certificate after, and said bye to the nurse. i found the staff to be polite and pleasant.

  3. Review titled Obstructive reception staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Neil Forrest - Posted on 06 December 2022

Dr told me to contact him if my condition didn't improve. When I asked reception to let him no my condition hadn't improved they refused and would only offer me an appointment in ten days time. I explained the doctor told me to contact him straight away. I had to call 111 and explain the situation. The person there tried to book me an appointment for that day but the practise refused to accept it. She has sent a report to the practise asking a doctor to contact me but I have no confidence a doctor will ever receive it. I had a similar problem previously. The doctors are good but reception are obstructive.

  5. Review titled Rude receptionist

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I rang to make a face to face appointment with a doctor on the recommendation of the practise pharmacy. Rudely interrupted so receptionist could go through the protocol of how doctors work with their appointment system. Why can't I ask and get a face to face with a GP. I have never met one of the doctors yet! Is this the normal now? Begs the question 'what are doctors doing now if they are not seeing patients'? Whilst I understand we have gone through Covid which at that time it was acceptable to speak to a doctor by phone. All other services have resumed normal practises for the most part but doctors have remained as they were during Covid. As I have paid national insurance for my whole working life, I feel I'm allowed to ask for face to face appointment as I,along with many others have and do contribute towards our health services

I am sorry you are unhappy with the practice appointment system. The practice operates a telephone first consultation model. The doctor will assess your needs and if clinically appropriate for a face to face appointment will book you with the most appropriate healthcare professional. Our team has expanded greatly due to the difficulties with the national GP shortage and we now have advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates, Pharmacists and Physiotherapists working in the practice as well as an increase in services that are available from the community pharmacy. We have to book patients with the most suitable clinician to ensure our resources are available for as many patients as possible.
