  1. Review titled Jumping Through Hoops to get basic appointment

    Sister just diagnosed with high blood pressure I checked my own at home & it was very high. Popped into the doctor's to get an appointment with the nurse to have it checked Asked at the desk, said it was to get my blood pressure checked as it test high ar home Was sent to a machine at vack of surgery BP came out 177/96 Went back to desk with printout in my hand - asked again for a nurses appointment Was told I'd have to go to the pharmacist, get them to take my blood pressure & they'd refer me Got to pharmacists, but because it was 15 minutes before closing, they wouldn't do the test - come back tomorrow That blood pressure reading was dangerously high, but apparently it's OK for me to die of a massive stroke jumping through red tape, rather than just give me a sodding appointment & get me on meds asap

    Chasing up a prescription which has not gone to pharmacy from day before…on phone on hold nearly 2 hours decided to go down instead kept waiting another 30 mins only to be told Doctor off today and she might sign it off by Thursday. One receptionist manning phone and only one couple waiting in waiting room absolutely disgusted. Seriously need to get more staff and better doctors not just part time ones. This practice is continually getting worse.

    On the line 48 minutes started at around 11.15 was number 5 in the queue ended up number 1 for over 20 minutes had no answer, so gave up. Did it become lunch break during my wait I wonder?? I Tried at the same time from my husbands phone to be told number 3 in the queue, this surley needs sorting!!

    I was told my blood test results were normal & no further action needed. 2 weeks later, received a call from a gp stating they were actually severely high & further action was definitely needed. Sent email complaint & a week later still awaiting a response. Such a shame about the receptionists as the actual GP's are very good when you finally get a appointment to see one. Even before the above matter, some of the receptionist could do with some customer care training
