  1. Review titled Deceptive Appointments

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Asked to make a GP appointment and on two occasions was assigned an advanced nurse instead of a doctor without being informed. Thr care provided by the nurse substitute was not of good quality.

  2. Review titled Compassionate staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was unwell while visiting the practice and the staff showed real compassion in helping me settle and making sure I was ok. They also supported me in steps to take prior to and following my appointment to aid my health. Throughout my interactions with staff I have been treat well and have felt cared for.

  3. Review titled No Covid Test = No Consultation (In some cases)

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 December 2022

I have phoned the surgery and requested same day appointment due to the Upper Respiratory Tract infection. Immediately, I was surprised when receptionist asked me 'If this is urgent?' What kind of person ask this kind of questions? If It was not urgent I would not called ... 23 times in 10 minutes. Anyway, I have explained to the lady that I had similar issues before and I always always had prescribed antibiotic. Also, I have mentioned that something is different and I am truly worried. I was told that without need negative covid test I will not be seen. Wait ... what? Following her logic ... positive result would equal with no consultation. Anyway, I have said sure and put the phone down. Knowing that probably in 30 minutes the same lady would tell me that there is no available place today I have decided to go ahead and book private appointment. Two hours late and £100 poorer I have been diagnosed with Acute sinus, throat and larynx infection with first stages of bronchiolitis. I am generally empathetic to NHS and rarely had any serious issue with them but this one potentially could put my life in danger. Later on I was thinking what if instead of me someone more vulnerable was on the phone ... On your answer machine you are working very hard and I am sure you do. However, you also must realise that you have extra duty of care, however, with ambulance strikes on the horizon this ship has already sunk.

  4. Review titled Lovely

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sebastian - Posted on 16 December 2022

Small and great practice with lovely stuff. While it might be hard to get appointment of us hard to blame the practice. However, I do noticed that the practice accepts new patients and with the already overwhelmed staff this might not be the best option. Yet, once again I am sure these kind of decision come from other places.

  6. Review titled Friendly staff, try their best in difficult circumstances

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Even prior to covid general practice was struggling with underfunding. Now it is harder than ever for them. We as a family really appreciated the appointment our son had this week. We rarely call so when we do it is for a reason and we had a face to face appointment within an hour of our phone call. My parents took my son for me and said the GP was wonderful. Thank you for all your hard work in these ever so trying times. Keep going. You’re appreciated

  7. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Abi - Posted on 08 August 2022

I've recently switched to Welbeck after I moved house. I will admit I was nervous as my previous GP surgery were also wonderful, but so far i've been very impressed and reassured. Maybe this is pure luck, however I have no struggled to get an appointment or get in touch with the surgery. They have kept me informed of test results and are pleasant to deal with.

  8. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 April 2022

Refused to see our 3 year old and we had to resort to calling 111 who then arranged the appointment on our behalf. When I arrived I was asked to wear a mask (fair enough), but when I explained that I am exempt I was asked why I cannot wear a mask by the receptionist (the first time this has ever happened in any setting including visits to the hospital and dentist). The GP then came out insisting that I wear a mask, despite knowing I was exempt, otherwise they would not see my child. When I explained I could not, and I would have someone else come to the surgery to take my child in to be seen, the GP slammed the door so loud it made my child jump. Absolutely shocking and extremely unprofessional.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you had difficulty accessing an appointment. We do insist on mask wearing wherever possible in surgery to protect our clinicians, particularly when covid symptoms are present. This should have been highlighted when your appointment was made, I apologise if this was not made clear. The door at the surgery bangs shut after every use, we have tried to get it corrected. I am not able to contact you as you have not left your name, but if you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact me on 0115 9620932. Regards, Sarah Childs Practice Manager
