  1. Review titled Excellent service and staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Shelagh Allen - Posted on 11 April 2023

I became a patient at Unity Surgery over 18 years ago after moving into the area. I have seen staff changes over this time but the one constant has been the senior GP. He is the archetypal doctor, a confidant, a friend, reassuring and extremely professional with his treatment to me. Nothing is to much trouble for him. I have had a number of serious health issues during the past 18 years but he has diagnosed, treated, and referred me to the relevant services without failure. All the staff are polite, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. I would recommend this surgery to anyone without hesitation or reservation. Shelagh Allen

i recently had a steroid injection into my knee for painful arthritis. the doctor made me fully aware of all the pros and cons of this proccedure. The doctor was extremely careful in preparation. I cannot fault the cheerful disposition and caring manner. The staff always do their best to give you an appointment. I feel very lucky to belong to this practice.

  3. Review titled My Superb Practice!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Judy Briggs - Posted on 24 March 2023

Over several months last year I became increasingly aware of itchy areas on my body. Nothing I put on them eased the irritation. In spite of my reluctance to "bother the doctor" I rang the surgery, got an appt for that same day, saw a doctor & came away with a prescription. Within a few hours I was easing my very itchy patches with the correct cream. I was thrilled, I had been treated speedily with discretion and sensitivity. Having been a patient at Unity for many years, I have always had appropriate care, either by phone or face to face. A surgery to be very proud of!

  4. Review titled Excellent Face to Face Care

    by JGD69 - Posted on 26 August 2022

I've been a patient for 13 years at Unity and the reason I've stayed at this practice is because they deal with complex multiple health issues. Face to face care has reduced since the pandemic and although telephone consultations work for straightforward discussions, I've always valued the interaction of a face-to-face consultation. As a patient, it makes a huge difference to me personally. Today was no exception. My health issues include nocturnal epilepsy, acute spondylosis, arthritis, migraines and a urinary tract issue. Medications need fine tuning, therefore the surgery communication and the discussions with my GP and their pharmacist have become increasingly important. I would strongly advocate that access to face-to-face appointments continue along with some telephone consultations as they are the best way to maintain my health and wellbeing and to keep me from deteriorating further. This is the best way for all patients. Seeing someone isn't just about listening, it is also about really ‘seeing’ the person before you to determine a diagnosis. Well done to my GP at Unity Surgery for your empathy and understanding. Your knowledge and experience is extensive. Other GP's both male and female, I’ve seen at the practice, also deliver excellent face-to-face care

Dear Jane Thanks for this really positive review. We have tried hard to keep the surgery as accessible as possible over the last difficult few years. Your praise will be passed onto the staff. Thanks again for taking the time and effort to post! Ruth Cutler on behalf of Dr Khan at Unity Surgery.
