I booked an appointment with the aim of getting a repeat prescription for my contraceptive pill. During the appointment, the nurse sensitively and helpfully invited a bigger conversation about the transition into peri-menopause. We discussed the potential impact on health, work and relationships, what my options were, what the research is showing etc. It was the first time I'd had a conversation like this (about me!) and it also prompted me to then talk things through with my husband. I'm really grateful for her care and support, ahead of what is likely to be a significant life transition. She's always been professional and approachable, but today I came away with a great deal more than just a prescription note.

I recently moved over from another local surgery rather reluctantly (due to issues accessing a specific service for my child due to being registered with city practice whilst living at a county address). I chose Plains View due to the close proximity to my address and recommendation from others. The registration process was easy, with text updates once registered - and I was greeted with a friendly, warm welcome when collecting & dropping the registration forms in. I soon after required a GP appointment, called at 8am, through within minutes and a same day appointment booked with ease. I found the check in seamless, reception staff all appeared happy & the waiting room while not modern was both clean and comfortable. I was happy with the environment, the care received from the doctor that I saw, and the follow-up plans. I was also happy to see out of hours appointments being promoted for Saturdays (pre bookable only), as while a contractual requirement I never saw advertisement or received any offer of these within my previous practice. I hope this review may be useful to anyone else looking to register. Thank you!

I would like to commend recent treatment for both a family member and myself regarding the gp's nurses (re asthma updates and well women assessments) and physiotherapist treatment, our mum has received great care and continuing support with both recent and past medical needs also, the surgery is growing and improving all the time and throughout the pandemic they strove to provide the care the community needed with great risk to themselves. following a recent personal accident I required the care of; an excellent team of gp's, with brilliant student involvement from the local university (with permission gained), a super rn's health check, and the physiotherapist, all health professionals have supported me through my continuing recovery, having a physiotherapist on site is an inspirational idea, working closely with the health team and saving unnecessary waiting; I was given an assessment and have been able to commence treatment virtually straight away, this has saved waiting time and has enabled a return to work sooner than anticipated, thank you for all the hard work you are an excellent team of professionals.

Review titled Truly fantastic team

I wanted to highlight the amazing work of the entire team at the surgery - all of whom have been doing everything they can to support my Dad in the early stages of his cancer diagnosis and recent related issues. It’s a scary time for him and my Mum and all of us, but they have been so supported by the multi-disciplinary clinical team and the reception staff that it’s made things a lot easier. I don’t live nearby but will be back and forth over the next weeks and months, and knowing they have a team close by who they know and trust to help them get what they need is so wonderful and so appreciated, especially at a time when we know the NHS is so challenged. I often think we complain more than we complement. So I really wanted to post this today. It’s early days in my Dad’s treatment and we don’t know what will be coming. But I do know that we are very lucky to have this team supporting us and so I wanted to say thank you.

Great practice! My son was seen by the 5th year medical student initially. He was absolutely brilliant, very thorough assessment and straight away put my son's mind at rest. Will make a great GP. Thanks again

Review titled Superb Menopause Support

If you are struggling with menopause issues, please don’t hesitate to contact this surgery. The support I have received has been absolutely wonderful. Within the space of a few weeks I have gone from feeling at one of the lowest points of my life to (after 5 long years) finally feeling like my old self again. I want to give particular thanks to, the nurse who did my smear (and recognising I was struggling encouraged me to make a further appointment) the health care assistant who did my blood test (and empathised so kindly) and the nurse practitioner (whose kindness and expertise helped me choose the right HRT for me) Their combined efforts to support me when I was at such a low point, left me feeling like a warm blanket had been wrapped around my shoulders. To them, no doubt, this is just doing their job, all part of the service, to me though, reluctant to attend a GP surgery at the best of times, they have saved me from possibly many more years of utter misery. If you are trying to cope with the menopause but struggling with debilitating symptoms, please don’t leave it as long as I did to seek help. Make the phone call to this surgery today. You will not regret it! Thank you all so much.
