  1. Review titled Disappointing experience.

As a full time carer, responsibility for the health and wellbeing of the person being cared for is paramount, and the need to share and discuss, in person, with a professional i.e. Doctor, when needed is so important to both patient and carer and shouldn't be underestimated, sending a photo can feel such a cold, inadequate ,and impersonal way to treat a patient Accepting that this way of assessing and treating can save time and money and be very effective for some, please don't forget the personal aspect of face to face communication, far more reliable reassuring.

  2. Review titled Inadequate practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lynn Gray - Posted on 16 January 2023

I have tried to make an appointment for a telephone consultation with a GP on numerous occasions only to be told that I would have to wait for over a month. I am waiting for a knee replacement and have been told to see a GP regarding certain problems I have related to the arthritis that is causing the problems in my knee, l have spoken to different receptionists ( some very curt which is uncalled for ) to make appointments but as l mentioned was told not possible. With the bed situation in hospitals at the moment which I understand completely as I am from a nursing background, l do need some support from the GPS surgery. I feel for patients who have conditions that need treatment from their doctor it must be very frightening for them. I really hope that the GPS will not forget that they have a “ Duty of Care “.

  3. Review titled Good service during very challenging years

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Una - Posted on 04 October 2022

I have found myself having to seek medical advice quite often during the pandemic when before it was usually just an annual asthma review. The receptionists have been very helpful as the first point of call. The GPs have been very thorough and have referred me for tests inhouse and to various hospital departments when needed. I think they have been very thorough. NHS staff are working during very difficult times and put their own health at risk by seeing us. This is very admirable and I feel we need to think about the pressures they are under and the many hours they put in to treat us. Thank you Saxon Cross Surgery for all your support across many disciplines at a time when I have been much more anxious about my health.

  4. Review titled Reception staff let the practice down

Rated 2 stars out of 5

called the practice for the first time in a long time. already expecting to be met with patronising / condescending tone. requested a repeat prescription to be met with, there is no record of your medication. you will have to put a request in writing. To which i said can i do this via system online, ( there is an option to request in writing) she replied Put it in writing an bring it in. the tone in which you are spoke to is absolutely disgusting. I work for the NHS and would never speak to a patient the way they do.

  5. Review titled Exemplary care and compassion

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2023

I attended the surgery in May 2022 where one of the GPs admitted me to hospital needing emergency surgery to have my appendix removed, after attending with abdo pain and feeling very unwell. Following my recovery from this, I was later told I had a cancerous tumour found on my appendix, a few months after this original admission. The GPs and receptionists have been so caring, compassionate and thorough throughout my cancer diagnosis and whilst I have received treatment to remove the area affected. I have always been listened to and helped by surgery staff when having problems accessing results and where to contact whilst waiting to for appointments with specialists and the surgeon. The staff at this surgery do not get enough praise and recognition from the public for the hard work they all do! So pleased to have been looked after so well through further surgery at QMC, treatment and cancer monitoring, through to date in February 2023. During this time, whenever I have been unwell or needed help from someone at the surgery they have always been extremely helpful. I would have no hesitation recommending this surgery to close friends or family and am hugely grateful to them for their care.
