Back in June I had a COPD checkup the nurse found I had quite low blood pressure she immediately made me an appointment with another department for a week later low blood pressure was confirmed medication tablets reduced by half, ( by not seeing a doctor but doctor stated to half the dose)All good so far was told to make an appointment for 8 weeks later Which I thought I could do on my way out So stopping at the receptionist desk I tried but was told can’t be done as it’s to far in advance and to phone in nearer the time Have been trying to make an appointment since the 5th of August by phone each day was the same No appointments available Had to go and collect my medication from the pharmacy old meds cancelled Pharmacy have no record of any new meds being placed on order Doctors surgery next door to the pharmacy so will just nip in to make an appointment to see a doctor How wrong was I !! Ask if I could make an appointment reply none available for today No problem any day will do explained about the blood pressure problem She said her computer screen does not show any appointments would be better to phone in Pointed out to her what a waste of time that was as I had been trying for over a week Then I was asked would I like a phone appointment I have a blood pressure problem how will a phone appointment be of any help ? Was offered an appointment for 8 days later at an Ingoldmells surgery also one on the 28th By this time I had stopped listening Blood pressure going through the roof I think she said something about September Head spinning I left Made it home and it took three sprays of my Angina medication to calm me down And still no Appointment. Just like to add the whole of the ground was empty. Nobody waiting to see a doctor. In fact there was just me and the receptionist. Seriously, Does anybody know how you get an appointment, as I do need one urgently. I have been checking my blood pressure on a regular basis, it is extremely low. And at the age of 75 I believe this is not good.

  5. Review titled Pretty near pointless

Rated 1 star out of 5

It's impossible to see the same doctor twice at the practice so nothing ever gets followed up. The telephone line is constantly engaged so actually getting through to make an appointment is incredibly difficult and when you finally get through (if you're lucky) all the appointments have gone. I simply can't see the point of this practice as it's been like this for years and no improvements are ever made.

  7. Review titled Long long wait

    by Linebacker71 - Posted on 09 February 2023

My wife managed to secure a face to face appointment with her GP but only after I insisted via email to the surgery that she needed to be examined as her complaint (excessive pain in the rear ribcage) had lasted over two weeks, with no sign of it improving. This was finally granted only having to wait four days to see her GP. It was a new doctor to the surgery who was very thorough, having both her blood taken and an ECG in the surgery. She was then informed it would be approximately a week to receive the results. Late the same evening, she received a telephone call from the NHS advising her that one of the levels of a certain chemical was high, which is a Cardiac marker and advised her strongly to attend the nearest A & E department as a matter of urgency. Lincoln County Hospital is the nearest one to us being just over an hour away. This was a Friday night, so we were prepared for the usual drunken crowds that can descend on the hospital over the weekend evenings but we're pleasantly surprised on arrival when there were only seven people waiting to be examined. We booked in and within fifteen minutes she had more blood taken and another ECG. In Triage she was advised that her bloods would take around ninety minutes to be analysed. In actual fact we were in the hospital for over eight hours. We were moved to another waiting area after Triage where over twenty people were waiting to see a doctor. We finally saw a doctor who took more blood but this sample took less than twenty five minutes to be checked. The doctor finally said that the level of the Troponin in her blood had read 14 when taken at the GP surgery, normal levels are between 0 and 10. The blood counts completed at the hospital were 13 and 12, so as they were reducing, she could go home, taking painkillers for the pain and received no other instructions. Having heard nothing from any NHS source for over a week, I emailed the surgery on my wife's behalf enquiring as to what is happening as the pain has remained the same. I received no reply. The following day I emailed again only this time a little more forceful, within seven minutes of that email being sent my wife received a telephone call from the surgery offering her a face to face appointment with a GP the very next day, which she accepted. This GP had not been involved with anything to do with my wife's condition. He examined her as she explained everything to him. At the end of the consultation the GP stated that a level of 14 of Troponin is no real cause for concern as a Cardiac marker and that a level of 50 would be. She has now been prescribed a strong anti inflammatory and that seems to be easing the pain. All the stress we were put under and for a simple blood test to take over eight hours. From our point of view we felt it pathetic to see night staff simply stood around waiting for a doctor to appear.

  9. Review titled Fabulous Medical Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lynne Thomas - Posted on 23 August 2022

My husband and I have recently moved into the area and registered with this Practice. Since registering, the care we have both received has been second to none. I have found the receptionists and medical secretaries very helpful. The care I have received from one of the nurses for my newly diagnosed chronic condition has been simply wonderful and I cannot speak highly enough of the care I have received from one of the GP's.
