    AskmyGP closed after 1 minute. Not enough time to upload an image of health problem. When ringing I rang from 8:30 on the dot and it stated everyone is busy for a solid 9 minutes hanging up on me without putting me in a queue. 20th attempt at ringing it put me in the queue at number 20, to wait on hold for one hour and the receptionist hung up once I was through - poor customer service to not then ring back knowing full well how long patients are on hold for. I understand they're busy in the morning but I work a very similar role privately (and busier) and always call back if a call is disconnected. Manners :)

    Similar to other feedback I'm afraid. Ask My GP system overloaded. No appointments available so call back followed, offered an appointment in Gainsborough??? Practice appeared to be almost empty when I went in initially. Had to use out of hours hospital to get seen in a timely manner.

    Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. We are sorry to hear that you experienced difficulty with AskMyGP. Unfortunately, we do have a maximum and safe working capacity which once reached, we have to temporarily turn off AskMyGP whilst we triage the 150+ requests received in the first 5-10 minutes. Once these have been allocated out to the most appropriate clinician and if capacity is created then we will re-open AskMyGP for further requests. Patients might not get through on AskMyGP but can then later contact reception who will triage requests and add them onto the system, if required. As we try to action all requests within 48 hours of receiving them, this means that all patients will be responded to that day, or the following day with a plan, rather than waiting for weeks for a response. We have the benefit of a respiratory hub which is located in Gainsborough or Lincoln and this is to help triage all respiratory appointments to save other appointments in general practice. Unfortunately this does mean travelling to be seen but we have received feedback from patients that this service is prompt and easy to use which is good to hear. Whilst there may not always be a full waiting room, this is no indication of the work going on behind the scenes. Particularly since Covid and the enforcement of AskMyGp by NHS England, we now find that many patients prefer telephone calls to face to face appointments for their own convenience. These telephone calls still take the same amount of time for the clinicians. Without knowing the details of your request (anonymous review) I am unable to look into this further.     I dutifully waited until 8am to log onto the system to book a medication review. I was part way through typing my request when the system timed out. At 8:01am, AskMyGP went off line and was no longer available to book appointments! Incredible! How are we supposed to manage our health conditions if we cannot reliably access health professionals?

On some occasions the demand from patients is so overwhelming that that the system cannot cope or the slots fill up incredibly quickly however we are trying our best to manage this demand, create capacity and keep AskMyGP open for longer.     Having had some symptoms for the past few days I suddenly had a panic about if I needed to be checked out before the surgery closed for 4 days over Christmas. I called the surgery at 4.30pm and spoke to the receptionist who said she would pass onto the doctors. At 6pm I had a call from the doctor to call things through and asked me to pop into the surgery for a check. You hear a lot about the waiting times for the NHS but I think that was excellent service to get seen so quickly especially in the busy lead up to closing for Christmas. Reception staff friendly and doctor patient and reassuring. Thank you!

    Good staff and very helpful right through from the dispensary to the doctors. Ask my gp always useful too although busy.

    I have contacted and visited the practice several times as a new patient. I have spoken with reception and nursing staff and seen one GP. I have been treated with care and empathy. All of the staff I have spoken with are professional and helpful. I received a call from one of the doctors within hours of speaking with reception staff. I was also booked for a face to face consultation with a doctor straight after seeing the nurse. The doctor I saw was kind, caring and efficient, totally professional and she put my mind at ease. I was exceptionally pleased with the excellent service that I received.

    Having been advised by 111 to see my GP in 'the next few days', I telephoned the surgery with no great expectations given recent national media reports about long waiting times. I spoke with a caring and understanding staff member who registered me for a call back within 24 hours. I received a call from one of the doctors first thing the next day and, after a comprehensive discussion, I was booked for a face to face consultation the same day! The doctor was kind, caring and efficient, putting my mind at ease after a gentle examination and I was very pleased with the service I received from Welton surgery. Well done all!
