    I rely on my repeat prescriptions being available at least on the day they run out but it has now been 2 days since they did for a heart and blood complaint which also affects my breathing. Apparently on investigation the online service reports that they had been 'issued' but after contacting the pharmacy it had not been sent to them. An investigation by the pharmacy which was relayed to me showed that the repeat prescription request had not been signed by a Doctor which brings into question just who is responsible for this issue? It can only be a staff member and not a Doctor! I have written a formal letter of complaint both to the Practice Manager and to the Leicestershire Health Authority because of the unecessary risk to my already poor health.

    Recently I have needed to be seen twice as an emergency. I found that from the medical team down to the receptionists they gave nothing but individualized exemplary care. Thank you from a appreciative patient

    Thursday 11th May 10.00am Doctors appointment. I had what I thought was a sickness bug, but after 5 days I gave in and went to the GP. 11.00am I was sat in Triage at Glenfield. I had a blood test and was admitted to ward 36. At 7.00pm. I was told I was Nil by mouth. Friday am I had a scan and Friday late afternoon I had my gallbladder out. I am still in shock. I hadn’t been in any pain for a few days because I hadn’t eaten, and after the operation I still had relatively no real pain. Saturday morning the surgeon came to say he didn’t believe that I hadn’t realised I was in trouble, as it was bad really bad, but all was ok and I could go home. My new found friends in the ward were amazed how much favour I had received. Big thank you to GP’s at Northfield whose diagnosis was spot on and the speed which followed was down to their expertise and diligence. We feel so blessed to belong to Northfield Medical centre . Thank you

    Called this morning for home visit as I had to call 111Saturday called at 10am they called me back at 10 15 to tell me doctor will be out between 12 and 2pm practice called me at 12 20 to tell me doctor is on way what can I say this was first class service and a very big thank you to all at this practice.

    I took my son to the pharmacy next door to the surgery to ask for some advice on a minor issue. The pharmacist gave me very vague advice which left me worried that there was something more seriously wrong than I first thought. I went straight round to the surgery and spoke to the receptionist there. She was extremely patient and listened as I told her what had happened. Seeing how worried I was she arranged for a doctor to see my son. Whilst I was waiting (we waited less than 5 minutes) the same receptionist came and asked me if I was ok. I cannot thank both the receptionist and the doctor enough - they were both so genuinely kind and calming towards both me and my son. I would like to add that my visit was on a Friday evening at 6pm which was half an hour before they were closing for a bank holiday weekend. I wasn’t made to feel rushed at anytime and feel very grateful to them both for the care they gave.

    Patients are attending GP because they are not well. When a patient ask you some questions repeatedly, please be patient and explain nicely, wholeheartedly. If you cannot do it the job is not for you. Please don't upset patients. *All the doctors are fine.*

  7. Review titled Great Doctors surgery

    I have moved around the country quite a lot and have been registered with 6 doctors surgeries. Northfields is by far the best as the staff are so welcoming and they can’t do enough to help resolve my problems. I can always get an appointment when I need to see a doctor or healthcare staff.

    In recent times there has been reports of negative experience regarding the NHS and local practices with the inability to see a Doctor. So far as Northfields Medical Centre is concerned and my own personal experience I can refute that entirely. On no occasion have I had to wait to see either Doctor or Nurse when I needed them. I have found over many years that the practice is efficient, the staff always helpful and any ‘ Follow up ‘ treatment is excellent.
