I had a talk with the receptionist a phone call with the triage nurse and an appointment with the doctor all in the space of two hours. Brilliant

My doctor always listens to my thoughts and feeling and shows empathy. I never felt like i was being judged. He has truly helped me and my 16 week baby. I can nit thank him enough.

I recently had some health concerns that led me to attend the Buxton Medical Practice for the first time. From the outset, I was treated respectfully and professionally by all staff but perhaps more importantly with an open, friendly and reassuring welcome. The process for booking an appointment was easy, efficient and timely with excellent communication throughout. It’s always good to have email and text confirmation which is then backed up with timely reminders. I saw a locum doctor, who took time to listen and make copious notes before undertaking her initial examination. From this point she organised blood tests, x-rays and an ECG which were completed within 7days. Immediately results were available I was given the opportunity to have an in-depth consultation with the practice doctor. This was relaxed, informative and extremely helpful. Resulting actions and follow-up were discussed thoroughly and left me feeling reassured and confident that I had received the best possible response to my health concerns. All this within one week! So how do I rate Buxton Medical Practice? Communication: outstanding Quality of patient care: outstanding Attentiveness of medical and administrative staff: outstanding Quite simply, a great example of how patient centred healthcare should be.

I was supposed to have my liver scanned which never transpired because Buxton Medical forgot to request it with the hospital. I was also supposed to have a cervical screening recently and have concerns/symptoms of cervical cancer. I used the check-in screen (this is the only way they allow you to check in), pressed ‘finish’ and the machine told me to sit in the waiting area, which is exactly how it has worked every visit. I waited for well over an hour before asking what was wrong as I am used to waiting around an hour for each appointment at the practice. I was told that they “can only apologise” but the check-in machine had failed for me. Despite the fact I’d done everything right, I was punished by not being given my appointment due to the facts that the machine failed and the nurse was running late. If I had messed up the check-in, I would have taken it on the chin, but I was denied my appointment after checking in correctly on my end, that I waited an hour and a half because of the practices failure. I felt so let down and just desperately wanted my appointment but the nurse refused after being told about the situation by reception. They constantly fail! It’s not fair and completely irresponsible to run a practice that way when you have people’s health at stake.

I phoned the surgery about having pain from my recent knee replacement scar. I was quickly seen by a wonderful nurse and even one of the doctors popped in. They identified I had an infection and could'nt have been more helpful. Thankyou for seeing me promptly and being both professional and caring.

Since we joined the practice, we have nothing but praise for them. We've found everyone, the receptionists, pharmacist and doctors so approachable and understanding. Nothing really seems too much trouble for them. I've had a few problems with my medication, through no fault of theirs, and they dealt with it so efficiently I needn't of worried. This is how a doctors practice should be.

Had a tel consultation, and was invited to see the on-call GP that afternoon. Very impressed by the friendly approach in what must be trying times. Thorough check of my problem plus cross-check with specialist in ENT medicine. Prescription printed off to get meds.

Thank you very much for a prompt and thorough review of our baby by one of the partner GPS. Excellent efficient service right from ringing reception to physically seeing the Doctor. Really nice to ring and be greeted by a friendly member of the reception team who genuinely wanted to make the process easy for us.

My wife Carole & I have been using Buxton Medical Practice for more than thirty years and the care that we have received during this period has been first class. There have been many changes in this time but the service has remained excellent and even though with their extra workload at this time, we are still being very well served.

I been have under the care of Buxton Medical Practice for more than thirty years & throughout this period I have received excellent medical care. There have been changes in Doctors & staff but the Practice have always provided an efficient and caring medical service.
