The receptionists have too much power. They are taking clinical decisions regarding controlled drugs. They are continually resistant to making an appointment to see a doctor and Will happily take clinical decisions with no medical training or knowledge of the patient. They give out details of results and offer their interpretation of the results which has turned out to be wrong in may case. I have asked to see their written procedures regarding telephone triage on a face-to-face meeting with the practice manager and a senior partner (Dr) but they were unable to produce them. Surely the point of having a GP practice is that you get to see the highly trained medical professional who wants to help sick people? Unfortunately the doctors do not know how hard it is to get to speak to, let alone see one of them. I shy away from contacting them for anything because it’s so hard to get to a doctor and it seems pointless to me to have an argument with a receptionist about a right I have to healthcare from a professional. I’d be more than happy to talk to any senior member of staff (medical or managerial) but getting to speak to them is not an easy task. The medical professionals are good and I have a good relationship with my Dr. It’s the receptionists who think they’re doctors that are the problem. I would strongly encourage the doctors at the practice to try and make an appointment. Maybe then they’ll see the issue.

I am very sorry to read your comments. Due to patient confidentiality I am unable to respond to patient specific issues on this forum, however, I have had the opportunity to listen to the call and would be happy discuss the issues you have raised directly with you. Thank you Kind Regards Practice Manager
