  2. Review titled No service. It's closed. Basically

Rated 1 star out of 5

They told me they get 50 calls every morning from patients wanting to be seen and half can't be seen, yet the place is "currently taking on new patients". They absolutely cannot handle the number of patients they have so I'm assuming there must be some sort of bonus for signing up new patients because this place is clearly about making money not for helping people. The place is empty when you actually get to go there but you can only get an appointment if you go through 111. I know Friargate surgery is even worse so what choice do you have? Die on hold....

Thankyou for taking the time to leave you feedback. As you will have seen in the media the NHS is under increasing pressure. Although we are providing more appointments in 2023 than in previous years this is still insufficient to manage the increasing demand. We are encouraged by the local ICB not to close our list to ensure further pressure isn't passed onto our neighboring practices, also facing the same challenges with regards to demand and capacity. Everyone within the Vernon and Lanes team are working hard to provide the best service possible whilst managing the crisis that is facing the NHS as a whole. Thankyou again for your feedback. Patients comments are very important to us.

I usually order off the NHS online ordering system. This definitely does not correspond with the repeat prescription. One of them decides you need a review and before you know it you have to go without vital meds, phone the surgery and they tell you to phone the prescription line, well that's left me 5 days without antidepressants, I'm going through hell, been on them for years. The chemist also had problems ordering anti epileptic meds, so i'm in a real mess. Looks like I need to use the open appointment for the psychiatrist to sort this out.

  5. Review titled Quick Response

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would like to thank everyone in the surgery for their work. Last Monday I used the online form to request a blood test. I received the blood form a couple of hours later. I went for the blood test on Thursday and on Friday I received a text from the GP with a recommendation based on the results. I would express that I feel that my concerns have been taken seriously and the fact that I received a response so quickly was very important for my peace of mind. Thank you!

  6. Review titled Great response

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ben Wyke - Posted on 24 January 2023

I have always found the ability to message the practice consulting room with any issue very good with a quick response provided. In the most recent case I was responded to the same day, sent for an x-ray and within 3 working days was phoned by the GP with the results and options for treatment. This system has worked very well to me and reduced needing to see the Dr face to face.

  7. Review titled Absolutely shocking

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2022

Having attended a appointment with my 89 year old mother on 24/11/2022 I was shocked to see the whole experience. The receptionist was very rude when checking in my mother, as the checking in board was not working. After being told to sit down in a very dirty waiting room. My mother then went in with a clinician to have blood test, and to give a water sample. My mother then returned with her water sample, and paper work in a bag to give to the receptionist. The receptionist asked her in a very abusive manor if the sample was in a separate compartment to the paperwork? Luckily I was there to stand in and ask what did she mean? After being told like a child how to do this , I handed the bag over. The surgery display all over about how the staff should not be abused, and I totally agree with that 100%. The way they treated my mother today was like abuse, and is shocking, and if I wasn’t there to witness that, then nothing would be done. My mother has expressed before how she gets anxious about attending the surgery, and now I know why. I myself attend my surgery which is also NHS, and I can only say that is amazing. My mother has also expressed how when she tries to call she can never get through, and having seen that with my own eyes today, when waiting in the waiting room I see why, when the phones are ringing, and being ignored.

  8. Review titled Rude staff member and helpful staff members

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 October 2022

I’ve been with this practice for 5 years and have had mixed experiences with the GPs. The ANPs are fantastic and always helpful. Since Covid it has become almost impossible to get an appointment. I rang the other day , I wasn’t able to get through for the 1st 8 attempts and then finally after waiting 40 minutes got through. When I did get through the staff member couldn’t hear me and called me back which I really appreciated as it meant I didn’t have to get in a long queue again which was just great. When this has happened before they’ve just put the phone down. I am a hospital doctor in the NHS so understand the pressures that we are all under and try to be as tolerant as possible however I went to drop off a sample today and the lady in reception at the Lanes was incredibly rude to me. She made me feel as though I’d committed a crime just for walking in to the surgery. I’d be horrified if a member of staff that I worked with treated patients like that. Since Covid having to ring the practice actually makes me feel very stressed and anxious as it’s just a massive hassle. Like I said we’re all under pressure but speaking to patients with respect doesn’t cost anything.
