    I cannot thank this surgery enough for the care it has given to me, my daughter and my Father. We have only been with them a year and in that time they have given us ten times the care we had at our previous surgery. Right from the reception staff to the pharmacist team to the doctors themselves, I cannot fault one of them.

    I have needed a lot of care since Christmas from the GPS to receptionists cannot do enough to help the Gp has got straight back to me and helped I cannot praise them enough would recommend them to anyone

    Prescription line is always busy, ive rung multiple times over multiple days and its always busy. Yet the phone line is only actually open 9-12, this does not accommodate working people also if it was open longer then im sure there wouldnt be such a busy line and you would be able to order prescriptions needed. Even when rang the surgeries reception and explain politely that i was having trouble getting through and now my son was desperate and needed his adhd meds ordering asap. The receptionist snootily replied phone in the morning !! So not only did she not listen to my problem she still told me to phone in the morning or drop his repeat slip in the box outside. This was not helpfull what so ever !!! why can i not order a repeat prescription at any time during the surgeries hours !?

    Dear Ms Noble Thank you for the feedback regarding your experience of our prescription line. Further to my call with you today we agreed that your experience was not great for which I apologised. Although the prescription line is often very busy we can and do help patients when they come through to reception and I am sorry this did not happen on this occasion. We spoke about having on-line access as a proxy for your sons and I have sent you the relevant form as agreed. This will enable you to order repeat medication at any time of the day which will hopefully make the process much easier for you and your family. James Day Practice Manager

    I was left in tears today after witnessing how rude the receptionist was to an elderly gentleman who had attended the practice that morning to see somebody. She was rude, abrupt and belittled the symptoms he was telling her, cutting him off and saying several times "so basically you've just got sore legs". She did manage to get him an appointment but even the way she told him that was cold and unfeeling. I understand that receptionists have to ask people questions to make sure they put them through to the right person and at times they get verbal abuse which they don't deserve but that doesn't mean to say you treat everybody with the same contempt. The gentleman this morning was very polite to her and the tone she took with him was not called for. I've come across this receptionist on the phone before and thought she was a bit rude but I put it down to that maybe just being her telephone manner but to see it in action face to face today proved me wrong. All that was needed was a little compassion, politeness and some basic customer service skills. I pity anybody who came in to contact with her later on because if she was like that to a patient at 8am, imagine how she could be with somebody towards the end of the day!

    Dear Anonymous Thank you for your review earlier today and I am sorry you have had cause to contact the Practice regards the interaction between an elderly gentleman and a receptionist. I have identified the gentleman who attended the surgery around 0800 yesterday and I have spoken with him today for his response and he is happy for me to post his comments. He told me he “gets on with all the staff up here and he was treated alright yesterday, it’s just the way she speaks” I have also spoken with the receptionist who was on the front desk at the time who is sorry if her manner appeared abrupt and rude. This was not her intention and she will reflect on how she came across. It is very important that patient facing staff are friendly, courteous and efficient when dealing with patients and I am sorry you felt we let this gentleman down on this occasion. We do take complaints seriously and feedback to relevant staff so thank you for making us aware of your concerns. James Day Practice Manager

    I feel compel to write a review as Outwood medical centre and their medical and support teams always go above and beyond . They always surpass my expectations everytime i use them . Last week I had a serious back complaint which prevented me from actually walking . I managed to have a telephone conversation with a doctor within the hour , accessed over the phone and prescribed the relevant medication and booked into an appointment to see the practice Physio that day. I was unable to make the appointment and required an additional telephone consultation the next day . The triage doctor wanted to ensure I didn't have a more serious back complication and organised a home visit to be further assessed , as I was unable to visit the surgery . I was rebooked in to see the practice physio 2 days later , once my back had settled down . It is clear the patient is at the centre of their thoughts and decision making , I was dealt with , incredibly efficiently and promptly . It goes to show what a fantastic medical and support team exisits at this practice and leads the way in patient care . A huge thank you from a very grateful patient .

    My family and I have recently moved to the area and after receiving excellent care at our previous GP Practice, I was sceptical about moving surgery. However, my care so far at Outwood has been fantastic so I felt the need to leave this positive review. Staff on Reception often get bad press as they have a difficult job prioritising calls but they are all attentive and very caring on the phone. The Doctors and Nurses are so busy and can only dedicate a 10 minute appointment, as all surgeries do, but the few I have seen, male and female were amazing. I never felt rushed, always listened to and they acted on things promptly. Thank you all at Outwood. I would highly recommend your Practice.

    Very disappointed that when you access the practice website it advertises that you can book appointments online when in fact you can’t as this option has been disabled! It would appear this has been the case since covid began! Maybe it’s time that we tried to get back to normal and patients could use this option? It would free up phone lines and reduce the workload of the reception staff? Oh well I suppose I’ll have to ring at 8am and be in a queue to TRY and get an appointment!

    Dear Sue thank you for highlighting the mistake on our website. This is an oversight but I am pleased to tell you that we will shortly be reintroducing the facility to book appointments on line again. Through Covid we have had to triage all appointments first which is why this facility was suspended. We do offer a range of book on the day urgent appointments and pre-bookable routine appointments either face to face or over the telephone. Our phone lines are busiest at 0800 every day but we have a full complement of reception staff waiting to help when you get through. Thank you again for your feedback. James Day Practice Manager

    So went to see doctor today needed some test doing .Dr asked me to make an appointment for 3 to 4 weeks .Receptionist told me I cant see the dr it will be a telephone call to give me the results.I was told to bring sample next time I see him dont know how I'm going to get it tested through phone.So obviously she knows better than the doctors .C

    Dear Ms Attwood I am sorry if there was some confusion over booking you an appointment. Routinely, results are given back via a telephone call rather than an in person appointment as this is more time beneficial for both patient and the clinician. I can see that you are booked to see a GP in a few weeks to discuss the results so hope all is resolved to your satisfaction but please do contact me directly should the issue be unresolved.
