  1. Review titled Terrible Practice

tried to secure another appointment on their online service. Was logged on at 7:55am this morning. at 8:00am the appointments were opened. Started completing the form for an appointment. at 8:05am, the online service is closed. found the following times available for the online service advertised below. I am now convicted they have a real issue with clinical staffing. the service is a joke. I will add this experience to my existing complaint with icb. how is this practice allowed to get away with this? gp Surgery Service Times Monday08:00 - 08:10 Tuesday08:00 - 10:45 Wednesday08:00 - 08:10 Thursday08:00 - 08:10 Friday08:00 - 08:00 Quote Page 2 of 2 Reply to this topic...

I was sent a text from my GP asking me to make a appointment to discuss the findings .Since receiving it I have tried for two weeks to get a appointment. All that was needed was the GP to ring me it would have only taken 5 mins. But that makes too much sense. Also my GP practice still has no on line booking after 3 yrs!

Dear Anonymous Thank youf or your feedback. Our policy when a GP needs to discuss results with a patient is to ask the patient for a convenient time in surgery hours so we don't waste an appointment if the patient isn't available. Our online appointments are available to book for up to 3 months in advance via system one online or the NHS App. You will need to register and can do this via our website or with one of our receptionist. Dear anonymous Thank you for your feedback. I apologise for the experience you have had with appointments. We currently have a nurse who works on a Wednesday and Friday and a HCA who works Monday to Thursday. It obviously depends what you were seeing the nurse for as to whether you could have had an appointment with the HCA. If we have a last minute staff shortage can cannot get a replacement we do try to contact patients as soon as possible to rearrange. This will be passed onto the reception and admin staff. Advised to have a blood test by Blood Donar service as Hb low. Went to surgery with paperwork told to do e consult. E consult questions didn't really apply but continued. Text message following day to collect form. 35 minutes to get through to reception to request form to be posted as working.

Dear Anonymous I apologise for the service you have received at The Family Doctors. Our normal procedure for booking blood appointments would be to offer an appointment with our HCA or to discuss having it done a the hospital if more convenient for you. We no longer use e consults. I will discuss this with our care navigators and hopefully you will have a different experience next time you contact us. We are also in the process of having a new phone system installed which will improve patient access. Many Thanks The Family Doctors

  6. Review titled Never see a person

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 January 2024

I can't remember the last time I saw a doctor at this surgery. We used to have phone call appointments, which I felt was a bit silly as how can you accurately give medical advice without seeing the patient or the problem. Now we have an online form which takes forever to fill in and repeats itself, and have to sit and wait for someone to be bothered to look at this and respond to you. Hope you don't feel too unwell, you're going to be waiting hours, if not a full day before you'll get a response. If you're lucky enough to get an appointment it'll be in several weeks time. By the time you get to have the appointment you'll either be better or be much worse. I submitted a form today with an issue I was having and got told to see a pharmacist. If I wanted to see a pharmacist I would have gone to one already, rather than bothering with all the faff of the form. The doctors here, and from what I understand and almost all surgeries now, see as few patients as possible and give as little advice as possible, passing you off to someone else whenever they can. Seems to me like they just want to be paid their salary for doing as little work as possible.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for your feedback. I am disappointment you have had the experience as stated above. Our appointment procedure is to offer both telephone and face to face appointments and these should be offered when booking the appointment. We do actively signpost to the need of the patients with the intent of offering the best medical service for the individual patient. We also offer appointments within a couple of days so am disappointed to read that you have had to wait to a couple of weeks. Obviously if there is only a specific day and time you can attend this can sometimes be difficult to provide instantly. If you would like to contact me I would be happy to discuss your issues further. regards Jacqui Coleman Practice Manager

  7. Review titled Woodlands park surgery is fantastic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Emily Swanston Powell - Posted on 29 January 2024

I had the best experience today from my wonderful doctor at Woodlands park surgery. She was knowledgeable, extremely kind and understanding and absolutely thorough. I felt absolutely looked after and in the best possible hands. We called on a Monday morning and I was in 2 hours later. The nurse is phenomenal and they have sweet receptionists. Incredibly grateful. Thank you!

  8. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I require support with mental health issues which my doctor (was locum, now permanent as far as I believe) keeps ignoring a referral to a Mental Health team. That's when I get through to them. It's a complete battle of wits with receptionists each time, trying to get any sort of appointment with the doctor whether Telephone or other. The doctor is constantly full, even at 9am when they open at 8:30am. Today I was told to call back on Monday when all I required was a fit note. How can it be that every single time I call, I can never see the doctor? I haven't seen my doctor since before the whole Covid thing started, but as I remember, the service before was also terrible. I have had to go the means of going through my works private healthcare. If I could afford it, my preference would be to go Private for the rest of my life however I don't think that this is an option! These people cause me more stress and anxiety than they need to! Absolute shambles!

Dear Anonymous Thank you for your feedback. I apologise for the bad experience you have had with the surgery. We are constantly trying to improve access to appointments for patients. We offer appointments for the mental health team via our PCN as extra appointments which are held on a weekly basis, however there may be a couple of weeks delay due to demand. 9. Review titled Will I ever met a doctor?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 December 2023

I am suffering chronic acid reflux and have had two major operations in the last six months, but can not see my GP. Two phone call appointments with a 'care practioner' or nurse have lead to no progress. I asked for an urgent face to face with the GP last week, and have just been offered a phone call in four weeks.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to read that you have not been able to get an appointment with a GP. Our policy is to offer face to face or telephone appointments depending on patient choice and can book either on the day or up to 3 months in advance. While I appreciate the Christmas period can be busy I understand having to wait 4 weeks for a phone call is unacceptable. I am happy to discuss this further and rectify your problem if you would like to contact me on 0113 2602262. Many Thanks Jacqui Coleman The Practice Manager

  10. Review titled Kinmel Bay Medical Centre Is A Wonderful practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Lonsdale - Posted on 15 December 2023

We moved to this area recently & signed on with our GP practice. We've been so pleased with everything about it. The doctors, nurses, receptionists, office staff have all been so friendly, knowledgable & kind. The surgery is always clean & tidy. Getting to book an appointment via the telephone has been easy with same day, telephone or face to face appointments, being available. We cannot recommend this practice enough. Thank you everyone
