The staff at lsmp are the best doctors, receptionists and nurses I have met yet! They are always sensitive and kind about my conditions and do absolutely everything in their power to help and inform me, referring me quickly and running as many tests as needed, as well as answering any questions I might have - never leaving me feeling confused or unheard. I would absolutely recommend lsmp to anyone, and genuinely feel heard, looked after and listened to every single consultation without fail - from calls with receptionists, to consultations with doctors and nurses, follow ups, tests, results and referrals, I feel that every member of staff really gives their all and more and genuinely care for and respect patients, no matter how big, small, sensitive or embarrassing an issue might seem. Every practice should strive to be like this one!

Very nice doctor, answered all our queries. The receptionist was very friendly as well. Had my blood taken, the process was practically painless.

I have been with leeds student medical practice for a number of years and during two periods of being very unwell, my doctor was excellent in delivering care with empathy and both me & people close to me & other healthcare services all agree that she was attentive and consistently went above and beyond to help me , and at a time when i couldnt see i was poorly, made decisions that while i showed extreme reluctance at the time, those decisions in hindsight probably saved my life. The care i have received and how i would describe my doctor would be: caring, attentive, empathetic, organised. It is usually the job of the patient to book in for appointments, but while i was poorly my doctor made sure i was booked in to see her every week- which shows care & dedication that i will be forever grateful for. The reception staff, health support workers, and everyone i have seen at the practice have also been nothing but kind and approachable. Despite the high demand and difficulties all practices must be facing at the moment, i have always found this practice to be as accessible as possible and to help as much as they can to meet the needs of patients in testing times

Words can’t describe how bad my experience has been with this practice. I’ve had to ring up countless times to follow up mistakes that have been made, including; incorrect referrals, prescription not sent to pharmacy, and just a general lack of communication between people at the practice. Just this morning I rang up to ask about my prescriptions, only to be hung up on. When I rang back, they said my GP forgot to send the prescription. So 2 days later, I’m still waiting desperately for anti-anxiety medication. This practice makes it impossible to trust anything GPs say, and believe that they are ‘handling it’. Because chances are, they’ve forgotten all about you and will not chase up your problem unless you ring back 3 times asking for answers. I feel completely betrayed by my own GP, which is causing me more stress than actually helping me.

I wanted to say 'thank you' to the reception staff who are so lovely to these young people who are dealing with lots of change very quickly; and to the medical staff who provide an excellent service. We were offered a same-day appointment to suit mine and my daughter's needs and the doctor we saw offered a very thorough review and explanation despite the time of day and obviously very busy. I can't thank them enough. My daughter's trust in health professionals is tricky and the care and attention, patience and action we received really made a difference. By a mile the best GP practice I have ever used. Amazing.

Felt very comfortable and supported by many of the doctors I’ve seen at the practice. The most recent one I visited was really kind, patient and attentive to my issues. Very thankful.

My son just started at Leeds uni and felt very very unwell on Friday . He was given a telephone appointment and advised to get over the counter throat spray and come back in a week if no improvement . He felt so ill he had to come home to London on Friday night where he went to see a doctor who immediately diagnosed him with Pharyngitis and prescribed antibiotics saying he would feel better in a couple of days . We spent £80 for a return ticket home and £100 for a private dr . Such a waste of money and he was exhausted by the journey . The alternative was waiting a week for maybe a face to face appt. This makes me concerned for the next 3 years a Leeds uni if this is the surgery he has to deal with

I live in Otley and this practice was the nearest on offer for my Covid booster. So easy to book online. The reception staff were friendly and very polite, as was the member of staff who gave me the injection. Very well organised system in the waiting area, no waiting required at all. I cannot comment on their normal routine as it is not my GP practice but I have to say I was very impressed. Thank you!

Been coming for four years as a student and never had a good experience with reception. This last time was the worst and I felt that I had to leave a review. I was trying to ring up to make an appointment, something which is already very difficult at this practice, and the line is only open a couple hours a day. When I got through at around 10am( within the time parameters) I was scolded for not ringing at 8am, I explained that I couldn’t but she then said well you should have rung yesterday at 8am. There was more to this conversation but that was the short of of it- I wanted to say that it is already very hard to have the courage to ring up the GP as a mental health patient and to be met with extremely dismissive staff that focused on my inability to ring earlier rather than my need for help is distressing. In the past I have had this but I was too upset to say anything and didn’t go to the doctors for help for months, I am better now but if I were another patient with life-threatening mental health issues, this is unacceptable. I would like to add that the doctors and nurses are lovely however as the primary point of contact between patients and the GP, staff like this have no place.

Whilst I appreciate that the surgery is overwhelmed with students, it is unacceptable for the doctors and other staff to make patients feel a burden or that they want to be done with them ASAP. The doctor I saw was rushing the appointment, barely giving me chance to speak. It felt like I was not being heard at all. If I was a new student in leeds I would definitely chose another practise.
