Review titled The worst physiotherapy I've ever had

I attended a physiotherapy session here, and it was so bad that I left the surgery in tears feeling totally worthless. The physiotherapist wouldn’t even look me in the eyes through the appointment - the surgery was very quiet and it was incredibly clear they just wanted the day to be done and me to get out of the room. My entire appointment was over in 5 minutes. I was asked where my pain was and how this was limiting me, but the physio didn’t observe what I could or couldn’t do or try to understand the level of pain. This would be important, because I am hugely limited in day-to-day life at the moment. They just poked me once, said the name of the condition, and that was that. They didn’t explain the condition, what it meant or how long it generally takes to recover. They then just typed things up on the computer and sent me a link for exercises that I could have just googled. They didn’t explain the exercises, show me how they were done, or check I could even do them. It would have ended there if I hadn't asked what next steps were if the exercises didn’t work, how long I should be doing them for, what I should avoid doing, what else I could do to aid recovery… I literally had to beg for any information whatsoever. It was a good job I had actually self-diagnosed via the NHS website and had some idea of what I should and shouldn't be doing, but this should not be expected! Turns out that I can’t do any of the exercises given without being in so much pain that I'm in tears, but there’s no advice on what to do in that scenario or a way to easily get back in touch. It's like the entire appointment was an advert for private physiotherapy sessions, which is what I'm going to have to do if I want to be able to heal. Do not recommend, avoid, avoid, avoid.

I am utterly shocked by so many negative reviews truly. I have been with this surgery for 9 years and can not fault them. From the receptionist to the nurses and the doctors. I’ve always had the upmost care of the highest standard. From the minute I call a lovely warm friendly receptionist answers and does everything she can to help me. Yes it’s hard to get an appointment at times but that’s to do with cuts and the fact that beeston is over populated with only a few surgeries. The strain on Leeds city is massive if you think of all the many people that live in beeston and surrounding areas. I generally get an appointment though with my chosen doctor within a few weeks max. Once at the surgery it’s always clean tidy waters provided facilities are well kept and my wait is generally short. I can’t comment on all the doctors as I usually see same one but the doctors I have dealt with and nurses have always been amazing warm friendly helpful supportive understanding patient kind caring professional and willing to go that extra mile to help and reassure me. I genuinely can not fault this practice and after hearing horror stories about other surgeries in beeston I know how lucky I am I been under such a outstanding surgery.

I have been under the practice 9 years and in that time I have always found the staff from receptionist to nurses and GPs to be outstanding. They have all shown professionalism, care, understanding, patience, kindness and all have gone above and beyond in times of need. I can not fault this practice and I’ve been under a few. Throughout covid and after I’ve still managed to get an appointment or at very least managed to speak with a doctor. I am thankful to have such a great surgery I can rely on

Just wanted to compliment Leeds City Medical Practice on their triage system. Excellent up to date procedure where by after speaking to the receptionist I was asked to send in a photo of a knee joint I was having a problem with so it could be looked at by the doctor on triage. The system was easy to follow on my mobile and saves time on decisions whether you need to be seen or not. Fully support this modern way of working. I received a call from the doctor and was scheduled an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner. She was efficient/knowledgeable/friendly and listened to my concerns - sorted out appointments for further investigation and gave excellent advice. Well done Leeds City Medical practice - leading the way when the system is overstretched and for adapting procedures to improve the service all round. The Receptionist was being trained and she did a great job - 10/10
