I had difficulty logging into the online prescription service. The receptionist was extremely pleasant and sorted the problem out for me.

  2. Review titled Prompt appointment.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having cut my finger in the garden the previous day I rang at 8.30am to see if I needed to go to A & E for a Tetanus injection but was told the assistant nurse could see me at 10am and I was out by 10.15. Very prompt, friendly and professional service.

  3. Review titled Not professional

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 March 2023

Doctors went home because of the snow, and didn’t have the professionalism to realise to inform the patients that they weren’t expecting a phone call. I was waiting 2 hours before I called to ask if I’d been forgotten. My advice is don’t have a phone call appointment, do it face to face, they can’t mess you around then. They’re just numbers to you, and they rush you in and out and don’t do there job properly. I’ve worked at another surgery and the stuff that comes out of some of the doctors mouths is disgusting, so it doesn’t give me a lot of faith here. They’re even too lazy to do a referral and dismiss you when you mention it. Something has to change. You’re making a lot of money each year, and what do you have to show for it? 2 minute conversations over the phone or in person and rushed out. I am very upset.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback, I am very sorry that you are dissatisfied with the service at Lepton surgery. During severe weather conditions we make every effort to maintain business as usual, but unfortunately sometimes our services can be impacted. Ensuring the safety of our employees is very important to us and sometimes we need to make alternate arrangements if the roads are unfit for travel. However, all our GPs are set up to work remotely in these circumstances to ensure we can continue helping our patients. I am very sorry to hear that there was an issue with your appointment, and I would encourage you to reach out to the Practice Manager by emailing: admin.leptonsurgery@nhs.net We welcome patient feedback, and where we can make any changes to improve the patient experience, we are always willing to do so.

  4. Review titled Worrying service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Was due a yearly review regarding long term illness. Had an appointment on 16th Feb at 11.50, turned up on time but was told my appointment was at 11.20. Given a later time that day which was good but about 10mins later Practice rang to say could not be seen later as I needed a 20 minute slot. I rang back the following day and made an appointment for 21st at midday. Lovely Nurse, looked at my new blood pressure recordings, previous weeks readings posted through as concerned re elevated despite being on medication. She agreed looking at new readings that Systolic too high and Doctor should contact me by end week with plan forward. Total time in there no more than 5 minutes so why told I needed 20 minutes not sure. No blood results discussed re my cancer thyroid recovery. Weds 22nd text from surgery to ring them , rang back and told need to see Doctor which I initially thought good, however given an appointment for telephone consultation in 4 weeks time on 20th March. Even the receptionist laughed when I said I would have probably died from a stroke by then. This is a similar service to when I rang in 2019 re lump in my neck, could not get an appointment, even went into the surgery and showed the receptionist the large lump in my neck and was given an appointment 3 weeks later to see the Nurse, not the Doctor. This was not following Nice guidelines. Eventually seen by the hospital in the May, 4 months later - diagnosed cancer I know all services are stretched but some conditions need seeing more urgently than others

  5. Review titled Thankful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Joanne Whiteley - Posted on 07 March 2023

I should have posted this last year but as the saying goes “better late than never” Last May I contacted the surgery to request an appointment. I was advised I would receive a telephone call back from a GP - which I did. The GP kindly listened and put me at ease and reassured me that my symptoms would ease in 2 to 3 weeks but if not to call back. Unfortunately my symptoms didn’t go away and I called back and was given another telephone appointment. Again the GP listened - asked a multitude of questions and said she was going to refer me to see an ENT specialist. I received a telephone call from the surgery to advise of the upcoming appointment and this was followed up with the appointment letter. Although I never saw my GP face to face I felt listened to and was thankful of their swift referral to put my mind at ease. I just want to say thank you to all the staff for their kindness and hard work.

  6. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

Unable to get appointment as have to phone at half eight in the morning and all gone if they even answer the phone. Full time workers don't stand a chance and when you explain this no alternative offered just ignorant response. Urgent care is none existent. Then you have to tell the reception staff what's wrong before they will give you an appointment. Worst surgery I have ever dealt with.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback, and I am very sorry that you are dissatisfied with the service at Lepton surgery. We are working extremely hard to continuously improve access and waiting times for our patients, if you do find it difficult to contact us by telephone, there are also options to book an appointment online or use our online consultation service, PATCHS, you can find out more information about this on our website. All our reception team are well trained to understand the needs of our patients and navigate their care, our patients can access several services in addition to a GP appointment, such as first contact physios, pharmacists, mental health services, and sometimes it is appropriate for receptionists to signpost to an emergency service for urgent issues. Our reception team are here to help, and they will ask questions to help them understand how we can provide you with the right care as efficiently as possible. However, we understand that not all patients feel comfortable discussing their symptoms with a receptionist over the phone, and it is not compulsory to share any information at this stage. We welcome patient feedback, and where we can make any changes to improve the patient experience, we are always willing to do so. To help us better understand your experience and provide a resolution, I would encourage you to reach out to the Practice Manager by emailing: admin.leptonsurgery@nhs.net
