    I successfully scheduled an appointment for my entire family to receive treatment for scabies, with the receptionist's invaluable assistance. However, before booking the appointment, she kindly advised me to visit the pharmacy for help. Unfortunately, the cost of the prescribed cream was £25 per tube, and as a family of four, the expense was overwhelming given the current cost of living. Upon consulting with the doctor, I expressed my frustration and disappointment at the lack of support from various NHS staff members during this ordeal. Despite my passionate plea, the doctor seemed dismissive and even chastised me for the financial burden the NHS incurs when prescribing such creams. This interaction left me feeling abandoned and distressed, especially with my 9-year-old son witnessing the exchange. After finally receiving the prescription and visiting the pharmacy, the compassionate pharmacist empathized with my situation and offered comfort and support. His kindness contrasted starkly with the treatment I received at the doctor's office, leaving me in tears. I realized that such negative experiences should not be associated with seeking medical assistance, prompting me to switch to a different surgery. It was a reminder of the importance of feeling valued and supported by healthcare professionals during vulnerable moments.

    Phoned at 8.05; appointment with GP of my choice at 10.10; home with prescription collected by 11.00. I was listened to, examined, engaged with and my opinion sought. How lucky we are and what a priceless, threatened treasure is the NHS!

    Yet again Plane Trees have provided a service above my expectation. I feel grateful that I have a surgery where you can make appointments and be seen face to face. Regardless of what medical issue I have they have a service that can assist. It’s a shame that some other practices in Calderdale don’t use Plane Trees as a bench mark for their own service.

    Rang today at 8.05 and used the callback service for the first time as i was 20th inthe queue. I'd received a callback by 8.15am and was offered an appointment within two hours or the last appointment of the day to suit my working hours. The receptionist was really caring and very professional.You really do have a great team and we are lucky to be cared for by this practice.

    Receptionist was able to make an appointment in the morning at a different surgery for one medical problem and arranged a telephone consultation in the afternoon. Both issues resolved quickly and with utmost professionalism. Thank you

    We have been a member of this practice since 1980. My husband before that since he was born. My husband has been ill since a stroke in 2021. Didn’t affect him at first but I did mention to the Doctor a few years before about his hand shaking. This was brushed aside as everyone suffers from that as they get older. My husband had a knee operation and this caused him to have problems walking so he went to see the physio and he asked how long he’d been having difficulty walking. He was then referred to see a (Doctor) who actually was a pharmacist and not a Doctor and referred to the hospital. We knew there would be a long wait because of covid etc this was in November 2022. Meanwhile because he needs so help I contacted Gateway on his behalf and asked if they could do anything for him. We both were in the meantime thinking that it could be Parkinson’s. The physio from gateway got intouch and came to see him last week and confirmed it looked as if it could be what we thought. They are now visiting him to help his balance and walking. In the meantime we got a letter from the hospital neurology department (this was after we had rung both the surgery and the hospital to see if an appointment was imminent) the letter referred him back to the Doctor as they didn’t want to see him. So again more phone calls to the Doctor who rang no info received from the hospital!! Then yesterday they rang him from the surgery to say that the Doctor would ring him today. The Doctor (pharmacist) rang to say he was being referred to another clinic because he is over 70 and too old for the neurology department to see him. It would appear when you get over 65 they don’t want to help you in anyway. Meanwhile my husband is sat here very upset at being fobbed off. With no medication given to help his condition. I suppose it will be another 4 months before we get any help. Thank you Plain Trees for your help not.

    My Partner called the surgery this morning to get an appointment, and was told someone would contact him, during morning surgery. So initially so far so good. However, due to the nature of his job he missed the 2 phone calls from the Doctor. Now I understand there is a process in place, and the doctors can't spend all day chasing patients, but there should be some room for manoeuvre. When my partner rang back (with 2 mins of missing a call) he was rudely told by the receptionist to ring back tomorrow and refused any further discussion. He is now worried sick and doesn't know where to go. Like I say I know they are busy but for people who drive for a living or can't answer the phone on deman there should be some leniency. To be told by a receptionist in a rude tone that he is unable to seek medical attention is disgusting. They seem to have a power trip about having control over patients. If the same happens tomorrow then where does he go. Let's just hope it is nothing serious. The receptionist need some serious training, and a review of the system.

    Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you had a negative experience. We do advise patients that the doctor will only be able to call twice as they have to move on to other patients. Patients should also be given an indication within an hour of when they should expect to receive a call so that they can plan their day around this. Alternatively you can book an appointment to come in to the practice which may work better for your partner due to their work commitments.     After missing Dr,s call as not expected called to speak to the Dr , the receptionist refused as I’d had 2 calls. Feeling anxious and unwell I asked could I get an appointment she said no, I said I need to speak to a Dr and she said we have no appointments. You could tell from her attitude she was so Smug and Self satisfied she had the power to refuse someone a request. Appalling

    We recently joined this practice and have been very impressed by the helpfulness of the reception staff, nothing is too much trouble. The nurses and doctors are very kind, professional and will do everything they can to help. We are more than satisfied with this practice and are so glad that we changed.
