Tried to make an appointment only to be told I can be referred to a local pharmacist! They have the cheek to say a pharmacist is trained to the same standard as a gp.Did they go through years of medical school - I think not! This surgery does all it can to avoid seeing & treating patients. They do not care. Having been a patient at this surgery for over 30 years I have never known anything so poor. Since the pandemic they seem reluctant to see anyone!

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. The Community Pharmacy Consultation Service scheme has been in use through England for over four years. The Community Pharmacists are very experienced health care professionals, capable of dealing with patients who have a range of minor conditions. If a Community Pharmacist feels that a patient requires urgent care by a GP, the patient is referred back to the emergency GP for care on the same day. This service was set up by NHS England to support GP practices and other parts of the NHS. Since it was established, 90% of patients referred by this practice have not required referral back to the GP on the same day, thus making many more appointments available for the patients who need them.
