In mid november , after several days of illness, I , rather nervously, phoned the practice first thing monday morning. I found the telephone queuing system reassuring and clear. The receptionist was kind and noted my symptoms. I was phoned back, as promised, by the nurse practitioner , who listened carefully and gave me an urgent appointment that morning. I was seen by a helpful paramedic , who examined me and referred me to the Same Day Emergency Clinic at the hospital . My blood tests showed that I had very high infection levels and a CT scan confirmed an appendicitis. By early evening I was admitted to a ward and started my treatment with IV antibiotics. I was so thankful for the combination of an efficient system, skilled and considerate staff , which meant that a serious problem was diagnosed and the correct treatment started , within the day. Thank you to all the team.

During recent contacts over an extremely sensitive matter, from my first contact about it, I have found the practice reception staff to be kind, patient and thoughtful in their approach to arranging for me to see a GP. The GP similarly has been very thoughtful in supporting me to work with them to find a solution. I have also had help with another recent health problem and been very happy with clinical care from the GP, and access to physio. Thank you Leeds Road Practice. You made me feel that my access to good care mattered to you

I have been attending this practice since moving to Harrogate 11 years ago. I have always found the staff very helpful and professional. I can usually get routine appointments within 2 weeks. The triage system works very well, The flu vaccine programme runs on rails and I am grateful to everyone involved in delivering it. I thought the eConsult system was excellent and would like to see it continue. It allowed time to provide comprehensive information about symptoms etc prior to the telephone appointment. Often a telephone appointment is most suitable for both patient and doctor. I have always been able to get emergency appointments on the day. My only criticism would be long waits for a telephone response but this is to be expected in a busy practice. I do think the numerous information announcements prior to answer can be a little irritating. Having moved a number of times both within the UK and abroad, I would rate this as one of the best surgeries in my experience.
