  1. Review titled Great Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I am a new patient at this practice and I was extremely impressed with all the staff during my first visit. The receptionists on the phone and at the practice were so welcoming and helpful, the nurse who did my blood test was so lovely and did such a great job and the doctor I saw for my initial consultation was super helpful and knowledgable, but still approachable and kind. I never leave reviews but I would like to give credit where it is due. Thanks so much!

I have never had a problem with this practice. But would like to give feedback. I called to arrange appt for my father of 91yrs old just out of hospital. I was 36 in Que got to number 11 and called dropped so I called back and was in number 21 again. When I got through I said letting you know my father home from hospital and before I could say anything else the reception interrupted me by saying we will get a discharge letter as if I was waisting her time. I was the one on the telephone over an hour . I was to make appt for bloods to be checked if she had let me finish. Take time and listen

Dear Anonymous Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your experience with the Practice. I am sorry that you had a problem, please be assured that we take all feedback seriously. We are aware that currently there is a wait for calls to be answered and we are currently looking at ways to reduce the wait times, including ensuring all staff are manning the phones at peak times. I am sorry that the Care Navigator cut you short and made you feel that you were wasting her time. I have fed your comments back to our Care Navigator Manager in an effort to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Thank you for leaving feedback it enables the Practice to reflect and learn to enhance the services we offer. If I can be of any more help then please do not hesitate to contact the Practice via our email of lscicb-mb.a82026@nhs.net and I would be happy to help. Kind Regards Donna Donna Reed Practice Administrator.

  4. Review titled Restricting Acess to Appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

Since removing ask my GP there is a link to click on the website if you don't want to wait hours on the phone to book an appointment It's a shame this link always say they are 'Out of Hours' so you can't actually book an appointment without ringing For the last 40 mins there has been 'over 10 people in the queue' yet I can't book an appointment any other way...

Dear Patient Thank you for leaving feedback on our appointment system. As you are aware we no longer use Ask My GP but are now using AccuRx, which is an alternative online service which can be used to book routine GP/Nurse Practitioner appointments. If you feel you need to be seen on the day then currently you do have to call the practice. You can also use Patient Access to book Flu vaccines, NHS Health checks and long term condition appointments. We appreciate that currently are telephone lines are extremely busy and we ask that you are patient with us. Should you wish to discuss anything further then please do not hesitate to email the practice on lscicb-mb.a82026@nhs.net and I would be happy to help. Thank you again for leaving feedback it enables to the practice to reflect and learn to enhance the services we offer. Kind Regards Donna Reed Practice Administrator.

  5. Review titled No available appointments

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Today I rang for an appointment with a nurse at the James Cochrane Practice as advised by the local hospital A&E Department for a dressing change on my foot. The dressing needed to be changed in a couple of days to check the wound was healing cleanly. The receptionist, to be fair was lovely but very insistent that they had no appointments but I could make an appointment back at the hospital as they offered this service. From a conversation overheard between staff at the hospital it would appear that the James Cochrane Practice regularly refer their patients to this Department instead of dealing with them themselves. Whereas I completely understand everyone is under huge pressure at the moment coming out of the pandemic it seems very wrong that they are fobbing of their patients on another overstretched Department at the local hospital. It’s hard not to notice that on the James Cochrane website instead of advertising for extra nurses to help them deal with the extra demand, they are in fact advertising for a book keeper! Maybe at their next Practice meeting they should be having a look at their patient care systems and whether they are working as well as they could be
