    You phone a 8 am for appointment all of sudden they have gone , also the telephone reception staff never answers I phone 12;4:24 call morning was just ringing out so tried afternoon same again, so I tried on the Monday morning / late afternoon still ringing out very frustrating Need my medicine

    Dear Charlotte Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry there were no appointments left when you called. We are a very busy Practice and appointments do get booked up very quickly. Are you aware of our online service? Many of our patients who need repeat medication use our online consult facility to make these requests as an appointment is not always necessary.     I rang the practice at 8am this morning to be on hold for 40 minutes and then they hung up , I tried again twice later on in the day and still constantly ringing with no answer, this is absolutely disgraceful when I need an appointment for an 8 year old child !

    If you want an appointment you can spend around an hour waiting for anyone to answer. Then to be told there’s nothing left for the day… despite calling at 8am like they ask. Told them about two medical issues I was experiencing and reception told me I had to ‘choose’ one because appointments are only 10 minutes long. I understand they are busy but this was quite upsetting and stressful. After this I turned up to my appointment 10 minutes early and ended up waiting around 45 minutes till I was seen. Just not good experiences every time I go.

    Dear patient Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry you have had a poor experience. Our telephone lines are very busy, particularly between 8am and 10am. Have you used our online consultation facility? Please go to ssphealth.com, from there select our surgery from the drop down list and you can complete a form which comes directly into the surgery, which would avoid you having to call and wait in a queue. I am sorry you had to wait for 45 minutes, there are occasions whereby the GP/ANP has to deal with an emergency and this has a knock on effect with appointments.     After having a miscarriage this drs surgery left me without pain medication when I called to get my prescription filled they assured me that it would be at the top of the drs list and would be done that day. I got my partner to go and get the prescription for me and he was rudely told it would be done the next day he tried to explain that I had no medication at all left and needed it today and was then told that he himself would need to find a new dr as they would not let him in their anymore so now someone with extreme asthma doesn’t have a drs surgery and I will be in extreme pain. Terrible place that should be shut down and receptionist should never be allowed to work in healthcare

    Dear Tasha Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry the experience you have had was not a positive one and I am also sorry to hear of your news. I have spoken to reception staff who dealt with this, when putting your prescription request through they noted their was no EPS nomination on your record, in order for the prescription to be sent to the pharmacy, they corrected this for you having spoken to your partner, hence why it would be there the following morning. I believe you yourself came in the following day and were able to get your medication. Our reception staff did not inform your partner to find a new GP surgery, unfortunately your partner got rather irate with the reception staff and informed them he always had problems whenever he needed anything and was quite derogatory about the Practice. It was at this point that our receptionist informed your partner that registration was patient choice and if he was not happy with the service he was within his rights to register elsewhere. Your partner requested he be deducted immediately at which point he was advised to find alternative registration first. He declined this and demanded he be deducted.     I have spoken to more than one doctor on the telephone, but did appreciate having a person to person appointment to fully discuss health concerns. I was asked to make a telephone appointment for the following week. Disappointed when told to ring in a morning. Surely it’s possible to book in advance when asked by a doctor.

    Rang this morning at 8 am and after a few minutes wait, spoke to a receptionist who was very polite, friendly and professional. I was impressed with the manner in which she dealt with my query as she was very helpful and demonstrated excellent customer care skills. I was offered an appointment for this afternoon for which I was grateful.

    Nurse Practioner made me welcome and listened to my medical problem advised me on any further appointment required and a referral made to hospital for an X-Ray. Very happy with consultation.
