    Today I attended the sergery 5th April 2024 for a three monthly procedure as i am working away at present the procedure needs done in intervals of Three Months, my Appointment had been arranged through the practice Manager. I had the treatment then had to get a temporary resident form from reception.The reseptionist asked who the form was for and a few other Questions no issues with that but then I was asked if i could not get the procedure done where i was working. Yes i can but as i was on holiday i had arranged to have the procedure done in my home town as it is time sensative? i had pre booked the appontment through the office manager. While appreciate the Receptanists have a difficult job at times, i see no reason to have to explain my appointment and as to why the procedure was being done at Yarm to the receptionist. Bearing in mind the procedure had already been done. possibly a bit more understanding and communication needed between the departments so the receptionists are aware of the Full Procedure ?

    Dear Mr Grierson Thank you for taking your time to provide feedback to the Practice. I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with your recent visit to the Practice. I fully appreciate your frustrations as to having to explain your appointment to the receptionist, especially as this appointment had been made via the Practice Manager. Unfortunately, with any areas of the Practice, we always ask our staff to "double check" if they are unsure, which is why the questions were asked. The Practice Manager was unavailable on the day in question to ask, and as such, the receptionist deemed appropriate to ask the patient, to ensure the correct paperwork was completed.     I attended an appointment with one of the excellent Practice Consultants on the 8th April 2024. As with all my previous appointments the level of care and attention I received was outstanding. I am so very grateful that I have such a wonderful practice on my doorstep.

    Virtually no pre-bookable appointments available: told the wait is over 3 weeks despite abnormal test results coming back. Told by receptionist to call 8am for same-day appt to get one sooner. I cannot not do this as I am already at work. This system puts barriers in place for people who work full time to gain appts. I waited until half term when I was off and then tried calling-was cut off 12 times between 8am-815am as call queue was full. Went down to GP Surgery 2 days in a row by 8am and stood in queue of 12 people already there before me. By 815am all same-day appts had gone both days. I suggested to receptionist that this same-day release should be for emergencies only, but I was told by receptionist that it is for all conditions. This is a ridiculous system which again puts barriers in place for people who work full time to get appointments, but I was told by receptionist that "the GPs prefer it this way". This is my first experience of having to use the GP surgery for many years as there is rarely anything wrong with me. For the first time in a long time I needed GP appt and am finding it virtually impossible to be seen.

    Dear patient Thank you for taking your time to provide feedback to the Practice. The Practice currently has appointments available online, via eConsult, via reception and via telephone. The appointments are released on a staggered basis throughout each day, and for a variety of days ahead. The Practice has a number of telephone lines, however, we are currently facing high levels of demands - regularly receiving 800 calls per day, which puts additional pressure on the system.     I rang today as I needed help. I did have to try a few times to get through but that’s ok - I managed to get through. The receptionist was lovely, asked what was wrong & once I’d mentioned the problem, she offered me an appointment within the hour. I was seen by the clinician who couldn’t have been more understanding & helpful. I’m on medication now & am beginning to feel a bit better. Thankyou to all of you at the practice, it’s very much appreciated:)

    The doctors are obviously under a great deal of pressure as a consequence of the significant amount of patients attached to this practice. My person experience with a doctor was very positive. Welcoming and professional is the best way to describe the doctors manner. Credit to all the doctors at yarm medical centre for working in what appears to be a broken system. To get my appointment with a doctor I needed to wait in a que outside from 7.15-8am. It’s impossible to get an appointment any other way. There were other people in the que who were ill and some I guess in their 80’s - not very good. Yarm needs more doctors.

    On 2 separate days in the last week I have tried to book an appointment over the phone. On both occasions the automated system said the call queue was full and to call again. Whilst I appreciate from other responses that driving to the clinic in person to make an appointment for another day is an option, patients should not have to do that: the medical centre must sort out its admin because when you actually get to see somebody, the treatment is good.

    I cannot get a Doctors appointment been trying for a week all you get off the staff is you have to phone on the day I cannot phone on the day at 8am I'm at work

We also provided Enhanced Access appointments outside of core working days - this may be at a nearby Practice, however, subject to availability, these appointments are available for our patients.
