    Went in about janurary with a prescription to put in from James Cook Hospital went to get a repeat of it today and they have given me absolutley nothing on from the new perscription this is shocking as i am diabetic and need this to live. It takes too long to even get through to the reception and when you do get through your more likely to get cut off than get to anyone to complain

    In the hope of resolving my issue before the weekend, I submitted an e consult request at 07:23 Thursday morning. I received an email reply late on Thursday afternoon saying I would get a response by 18:30 Friday. Today, Friday I have waited and waited. I received no response by 18:30 on the a mere 35 hours after the request. No courtesy call, no response at all other than the confirmation. The practice closed at 18:00. How poor a service can they provide? A very poor one by my experience. It more than matches their daily 8 am phone debacle. I have tried to do this the practices preferred way, as they certainly give the impression that they don’t want patients in the surgery unless absolutely necessary, and the service received from them is far from satisfactory. Desultory is a fitting word for Hillside Practice, amateur another. What do you have to do to get a satisfactory experience from this practice?

    From reception to nursing staff and gps I have been a patient along with my parents and son for over 50 years In the last 2 years a lot of the amazing staff have retired and moved on However they have been replaced by a new team of even more amazing staff including nurses and gps When calling the receptionist they are extremely helpful along with the prescription line and surgery pharmacy This is such a pleasure to be helped by such fantastic caring people A credit to their professions

    I am presently in the process of changing to another Doctors surgery as l find the service offered at Hillside inadequate, getting an appointment is near impossible, getting past the receptionist is a battle on its own. l used the E consultant system as l was having severe pain in my right leg from my knee to the top of my thigh, l got a reply saying a Clinician would be in touch by the end of day on the 6th of March l put this this request in on the 22nd of February, l used 111 on line service who advised me to contact my Doctor, l spoke to my local Pharmacist who advised me to contact my doctor to check that it was not a blood clot alas l have to wait nearly two weeks for a reply. l look forward to your reply to my review

We take all patient feedback seriously and we strive for excellence in all that we do. The e-Consults are read on the same day and are allocated an appointment based on appropriate degree of clinical urgency by the symptoms reported. If you feel you cannot wait until the allocated appointment a duty doctor is available every day to deal with clinically urgent matters, please contact the practice on 01287 650430 where a member of our team will assist you.     You can only book appointments to speak with a practitioner if you call in at 8am on a week-day, regardless of health conditions that prevent you from doing so. Tried calling every morning for the past week, only to be met with a full phone-line and a long queue, for there to be no appointments available by my time on the phone. Receptionists always say to use their e-consult service, but that service itself is shoddy and only gives specific options that are often irrelevant. Even after submitting econsult requests in urgent times, I haven't recieved any replies and am still waiting on simple but important appointments. The services offered are decent, but that doesn't matter when it's near impossible to book an appointment or get on the phone with a practition in the first place.

    Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your post and for taking the time to share your thoughts. I am sorry that you have difficulty getting through on a morning to arrange appointments. I agree this can be very frustrating. I agree also that the e-consult system is clunky and can be quite annoying; I have tried it as a patient and to be honest it is not the software I personally would have chosen, but it is provided to us and is the software that is being used across all practices in South Tees as the CCG's preferred option. All e-consults are read on the same day and are allocated an appropriate degree of urgency. If you have submitted e-consults and received no response at all, please get in touch with the practice as this would need to be looked into; I can't do this for you otherwise, as you have not given your name. Just to clarify, it is only the GP and Nurse Practitioner appointments that are booked on the day by phone (not including e-consult). Other appointments can be booked in advance. It's also worth mentioning that Primary Care in the UK is providing more appointments than at any time since records began - it is extremely busy.     I’ve posted previously not long ago the girl who was new to the area and didn’t know what to do, it’s the best decision I could have made regarding this doctors!! It’s been great yes sometimes waiting quite sometime to get through on a morning for appointments and things but had no issues at all infact me and my children have had over phone appointments an in gp surgery everyone in here is lovely very professional and polite, I’ve had no issues with prescriptions or anything and when rang on time I’ve go appointments same day if doctors can deal with problem over phone then it’s done this way if they feel the need to see you they will ask you to also go in that same day so overall great practice, I’m glad I give it a chance as it’s proven to be nothing but good.
