Mum lived at Holmleigh for almost a year from August 2021 to June 2022, when she passed away from dementia aged 97. She never wanted to leave home, but it was absolutely necessary, and we were so lucky to find and manage to get her a place at Holmleigh. I can't speak too highly about the care Mum received there during the last months of her life. The staff without exception were superb and the home itself is bright. modern and cheerful, and it smells clean and fresh too. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting the very best care for a loved one. Mum didn't want to go into care but the staff made her feel settled and she was content there. We could even take her beloved dog in to visit her. No one wants to see their loved one go into residential care, but if you reach that point, Holmleigh offers so much to the residents - a hairdresser, a chiropodist, lots of activities, and a homely environment. When Mum finally died and the undertaker arrived to take her, they had not only dressed her beautifully, they put a rose in her hands and a bag of her favourite chocolate raisins with her, which showed how well they knew her and how much they truly cared. I can't recommend it too highly and want to thank them for everything they did for Mum and for her family.
