Sight Support Derbyshire exists to provide essential support and services to blind and partially sighted people to help them to maintain or develop their independence. We also provide information and advice to families, carers, and professionals about sight loss and support services.

ASSIST provides support for people with a sensory impairment. The service provides Sign Language Interpreters, Communication Support Workers, Note takers, Deafblind Communicator Guides. Braille, Moon and audio description is also available.

We give visually impaired people a way of keeping in touch with news and events in the local community. The Stafford and Stone Talking Newspaper for the Blind provides a free audio recording of local news every week of the year. The Newstape is completely free of charge to anyone in our area.
