CHANGES TO THE WAY YOU WILL SEE YOUR DOCTOR OR NURSE

The old Walk In Service or Open Access Clinics as they are known closed for the final time on Friday 22 April 2016.

To ensure you get the best and most appropriate treatment we started a new appointment system on 25 April 2016 at the same time closing the walk-in clinics, this being in line with the rest of the NHS.

The new system will comprise of the following contact and access methods:

1. TELEPHONE - please call the surgery to discuss your problem - For Routine & Non Urgent appointments or test results - from 0745 to 1000.  For Very urgent matters anytime from 0745 to 1830.

2. EMAIL - send us an email explaining what you need

3. PATIENT CONTACT FORM - complete a Contact form at time of booking in at reception stating what you need

4. ATTEND IN PERSON - speak to a member of the team about what you need.

Our staff will deal with your request according to the urgency or clinical needs and help you to access the best overall solution.  They will then send your request to the most appropriate member of the practice team.  This may result in you being seen by appointment here at the Surgery or having an appointment at our Extended Access Centre (IHL).

Please note you will still be able to book advance appointments 2 weeks in advance if you have a GP or clinician directed letter asking you to book an appointment - all other requests must be telephone triaged.  Patients will be unable to get an unbooked appointment with a GP or Nurse without following this procedure above.

We believe this will ensure that you will be seen promptly by the appropriate member of our team and will help us to continue providing the best treatment available and we need your help and understanding to make this change work for us all.

Thank you                                                                             Dr Durston & Partners, Camberwell Green Surgery

HOW TO SEE A DOCTOR, ADVANCED NURSE OR PRACTICE NURSE

From 25 April 2016 we will be operating a total telephone triage service in order to see a GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.  Patients phoning for an appointment will be asked for brief details and a GP will call them back same day for urgent care issues and same or next day for routine/general matters.

This will ensure the correct patients get the appropriate appointments which could be with a GP here or at the IHL Extended Access Centre, ANP, Nurse or Health Care Assistant.

We aim to deliver the benedits of greater flexibility to patients at the same time maintaining or enhancing the level of patient specific service.

COMPLAINTS OR REVIEWS ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Please could i ask all patients that if thinking about or contemplating making a formal complaint or posting similar comments on the Review pages, to please first contact myself or Mrs Sue White (Patient Services Manager) as we would like to listen to your issues and feedback and try and help and assist you with your particular issue.

We have found through experience that sitting down and talking about the matter(s) in hand and looking at all possible outcomes lends to being able to find a suitable and satisfactory way to resolve most if not all issues.

We both v much welcome you making contact with us via phone, email or by speaking to a member of staff.

Many thanks

ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY (A&E) OVERLOAD

Please note that currently and for a few months now, all South London A&E Depts have been at maximum stretch and near overload inc those attending in person and via ambulance; our GPs will only refer to Kings College A&E where absolutely necessary and appropriate.

Please also be advised that the Lister Walk-in Centre is available for use by our patients as a stop gap between the times we are not open and should always be considered before thinking about A&E

We would appreciate your forebearance with this.
