Overdue – have you gone past your due date?

Unless you're having a planned caesarean, it's impossible to know exactly when your little one will arrive.

Pregnancy usually lasts between 37 and 42 weeks. Your due date is an estimate of when your pregnancy reaches 40 weeks - it's common to give birth before or after your due date.

You've probably searched the internet for ways to bring on labour and found tips ranging from having acupuncture, drinking raspberry tea, or eating spicy curries.

There are no proven ways to safely bring on labour at home - if you are keen to get things moving, check with your midwife first.
