  1. Review titled Brilliant care, kindness and efficiency

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 August 2023

I fell and injured my wrist, and attended the hospital this morning. I had read, on the website, that a 111 appointment was needed. The clinician, who rang from 111, did not know this, but when she looked, she found the appointments. As with another review, within a couple of hours, I had been triaged, x-rayed, my wrist had been manipulated back into place, plastered, x-rayed again, and I was discharged, with the contact number for Kingston Fracture Clinic. I cannot rate the service, or rather the people who provide the face-to-face service, highly enough. While there, patients were reminded to ask 111 for an appointment, as those people attending without one would be seen, but they would be added to the end of the appointment list, unless it was for a more serious matter. Residents from Kingston are also, apparently, able to call the Out of Hours doctor (no information has ever been given, on our surgery out of hours recorded message about this, but it is detailed somewhere on the website). ..... All weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and Bank Holidays you can both consult and see a local GP who has full access to your notes between 08:00 and 20:00 by calling the GP Extended Access Hub (run by Kingston Chambers) on 020 3841 9942. Thank you everyone who acted in any role today

  2. Review titled Horrible service by the nurse

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Rita - Posted on 05 July 2023

On the 5th July 2023, at 3pm10 I entrance the hospital with my ankle completely swollen I was not able to walk, or put the feet on the floor, putting the weight on my feet was extremely painful. I went to the consultory at 4pm07the nurse was completely rude cause saw that I was alone in a wheel chair and I couldn't push myself, she was watching me stuggling and did absolutely nothing. After the struggle to go inside, she forced me to got up on my feet and putting my weight on without support. I was in pain, and the only thing she said that I need was Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. In the X Ray, the doctor was very useful and helped me with the wheel chair to go to the patients room. The X Ray showed that I didn't have anything broken. So for the doctor is like I only had a bruise and treat me like I was pretending even when my feet and ankle was swollen and clearly I couldn't bare my feet on the floor. After hearing from the nurse that I need to do exercise, and move the feet, and putting weight, I was leaving the hospital in pain, without being able to walk independently. The only thing I ask was for crutches, that I need for the next days to have some independence to be able to walk. I came back, and I asked the nurse to give evidence base of care and she refused to even give references of what she recommending and called other nurse. The next nurse after I said that I was going to be alone the next days and I need some support, the answer was to get in a taxi home. Like if she is the one paying for the taxi, and apart from that, doesn't help me being able to walk alone, I will not go by taxi everywhere. Well, after telling me that is not the protocol to give crutches when a ankle is sprained, which is not true or is a new protocol to save money to NHS, after a friend months ago it happened the same and had crutches by the doctor advise. I left with crutches after a lot, I had to put myself in a position of argument to be able to have crutches when it's obvious that a ankle sprained it can get really serious if not rested and stable enough in the first weeks. The information and references of this nurses is 0, danger for the patient cause only acts to benefit themselves instead of the patient. The service was horrible, the way I was talked was shameful, and absolutely unprofessional. I don't recommend at all going to the emergencies in this hospital cause the nurses don't know what they are doing, being given paracetamol and ibuprofen I can give to myself I don't need nurses for that. The advise given was horrible and for a person to be treated like this better go to another service. Kingston hospital emergencies has better nurses and doctors, I will not go again to this hospital for anything, you will leave worse than you entrance.

  3. Review titled So impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On Sunday July 16th, I visited this walk-in centre with a worsening UTI. The reception staff were lovely, the waiting area was bright and welcoming and I was seen and treated promptly by the nicest doctor I’ve ever encountered. Altogether a first class experience. Thank you to each one of you for an extremely professional practice. You should feel proud. Having entered feeling grim and poorly, I left with a bit of a spring in my step. What a relief to know that such establishments exist. Thank you again so much.

I was warmly welcomed at Teddington Memorial Hospital. The multiple members of staff who cared for me made me feel comfortable and made the situation as relaxing as could be. I thoroughly enjoyed my interaction with the professional who looked after me. They talked me through what I needed to do to amend the problem in an easy-to-understand manner which I appreciated. I would highly recommend Teddington Memorial Hospital and would like to thank everyone working here for their service :)

  8. Review titled A very positive experience here today

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Diane Howell - Posted on 04 April 2023

I woke up this morning with some strong abdominal pain, followed by dizziness. Sure that I needed medical attention today, if possible, I rang our Gp practice. Usual story, no morning appointments left, but I could ring at 2 pm or call 111. I did the latter, was asked various questions, was phoned back by a clinician, then another doctor who was able to advise on where it might be possible to go for an in-person appointment. He called me back to recommend Teddington Memorial Hospital, or if no Gp there, to go to A & E. We went to Teddington, I was seen after a short time by a doctor, examined and diagnosed, given advice on using pain killers and a prescription sent by email to a Pharmacy near by. All staff I met were professional, understanding, and considerate. Everything was clearly explained, nothing rushed, adding up to a very good experience. Thank you very much to medical and admin staff!

  9. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Robin-Adrian Flood - Posted on 11 March 2023

Suffering from excruciating back pains for four days, I went to A&E for help on a Saturday morning. Despite a full waiting-room, I was assessed in 35 minutes and saw a doctor 20 minutes later. A friendly and thorough examination with excellent diagnosis and advice. Well done, Teddington Hospital, you are just what one expects of medical services.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Andreia - Posted on 18 March 2023

Went in with my son today.waitting room was empty but it was 15 min to close. Been denied treatment even tough he was seen by a nurse that saw him with a very high temperature and a very inflamed throat. Been sent to A&E even tough I was already there he he probably only needed antibiotics.
