    I was sent to get checked after having chest pains (this 12 week after heart attack) I cannot thank you enough for your way you checked me out with sympathy and kindness understanding the fear I had of it being another attack, my thanks to each and every one of your staff from the reception to the doctors and nurses involved. I was so grateful.

    26 week pregnant been referred by doctor to attend immediately. Was left to sit in waiting room 8 and half hours before going home due to toilets been an absolute disgrace no where to get food and not one person saw doctor in 2 hours. Was told they was only 2 doctors in whole hospital to treat emergencies, adult and children.

    Thank you for taking the time to post your comments and I am really disappointed to read of your poor experience. This is not something we would want any of our patient's to experience. We are seeing increased numbers coming into our Emergency Department which, unfortunately, means that our patients have to wait longer than we would have liked. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to reduce the length of time our patients have to wait. I am so sorry that the toilets were in such a poor condition and I will share your feedback with the relevant teams. In terms of obtaining food, depending on what time you came into the department, there is a café available at the front entrance of the main hospital building. If it is out of hours, then I believe there are a number of vending machines available. I will share your feedback with the relevant teams as it is important we continually learn from our patient's experiences. Thank you again and I hope you are feeling much better.     This was my 2nd visit to this department within a month for a further procedure and as before,the staff were so lovely and calming and reassuring, I felt so relaxed and the procedure was over before I knew it,,the staff and doctor carrying out the procedure were just amazing and they dont often get the praise they deserve,,thank you once again for your kindness towards me,,

    I had to come to the X-ray department for a scan. I admit I really didn't want to due to past, but not recent, experiences of your hospital with family members. I was sent paperwork beforehand which was very useful and also explained that if I wore appropriate clothing (detailed description) I wouldn't have to change into a hospital gown, which I find completely dehumanising and makes me panic. I attended and apart from a small delay everything went smoothly including only having to remove my shoes for the scan. The staff were very kind.

    I had an appointment in this dept yesterday and I was absolutely terrified of the procedure I was having,,I explained my fears and the staff were extremely reassuring and calming,the lady who carried out the procedure was so kind and explained everything to me about the procedure ,,the 2 staff who were also with me were equally as kind,,thank you for your patience and understanding,,it really helped me.

    I had hand surgery in the boothroyd centre on Tuesday 23rd may, from being admitted and to being discharged a few hours later I can honestly say I recieved first class care and attention from all those who were involved,,I had local anesthetic and was nervous but as soon as I entered the theatre I was reassured by staff.i was so relaxed during my operation and staff always ensured I was ok throughout,,I cant fault the service I received, I'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to all who looked after me on the day,,you were all so kind..thank you

    My 94yr old grandma got transfered from Mirfield to this hospital with issues and have been told by the doctor oh its her age that's why we can't do anything absolutely disgusting to think somone of that age doesn't need any help or care and you decide to be so rude and insensitive to say either wait 9hrs for an ambulance or take her yourself absolutely fuming of the slow staff at doing anything.

    Went to this department regarding breathlessness and arm pain,,after I was called to be assessed,the healthcare assistant was abrupt with me,,the doctor who gave me results of blood tests and ecg made me feel like I was wasting their time and basically said I was ok and nothing was wrong,,,not athing you should say to a person having a massive anxiety attack . No regard for patient care at all

    I went to hospital after many years today and was pleasantly surprised by the new set-up. The staff members were amazing. The bright and chirpy receptionist lifted my painful mood as soon as I entered, the nurses, x-ray department and the doctor were all amazing. I was triaged, x-rayed and reviewed all within 2 hours! Thank you for your kindness and your advice.
