    the doctors and nurses were extremely polite and caring, however reception were a bit rude. Waiting time wasn’t long and doctors and nurses listened to me what i had to say and reassured me

    I had an appointment today with my physio for the first time. I've been having All over pain, osteo, Hypermobility from age of 15, I'm now 40. Over 23 years I've not known exactly what was wrong with me. Rheumatology have been brilliant. Dewsbury hospital has been great and I was feeling optimistic and thought I was finally getting somewhere. Physio was dismissive, made me feel I was imagining my pain. Made me upset, bent my thumb back and it hurt, even though I told him I can't bend it back. He thought some exercises would help. They don't. I've tried everything over the years. Denied I had hypermobility even though I had it in a letter from rheumatologist. Told me I could do things when I couldn't. Really rude and made me feel like I was lying. He doesn't know my life and what pain I go through daily. I left crying and down. Will not be returning with this physiotherapist

This is not something we would want any of our patients to experience and I am really sorry that you had such a poor experience. All of our staff aim to provide a high standard of care and treatment that is delivered in a compassionate way and from the feedback you have kindly provided, this was not your experience which is really disappointing.     Came in for my daughter having a fall and a head injury. All staff were amazing so friendly and worked so hard to make sure we were constantly up to date on what was happening. The radiographer stayed hours later to wait for her to sleep for the CT scan. All DRs were amazing and some had never worked there before. Nurses were so caring and lovely and made us and our daughter feel comfortable the whole time. Thankyou everyone so much your hard work doesn't go unnoticed.

    I ended up in dewsbury a and e after feeling unwell, and I wasn’t waiting long to get seen, the staff that supported me whilst I was there and the healthcares, phlebotomy, doctors and nurses and radiographers treated me with so much care, respect and dignity and I felt listened to, they put me at ease and looked into my symptoms and really looked out for me. They were very attentive and even though they were really busy they spent the time they needed to with me to check me over to get me home. Very grateful and thankful for their service.

    I attended the walk in centre today. I was very impressed by the efficiency of the service. The staff were very professional and friendly. The nurse I saw was very kind and efficient. The radiologist was also very friendly and efficient. I was in and out of the department within 40 minutes. Excellent service.

    Visited ophthalmology department this morning for pre glaucoma review……nervously ! Saw amazing consultant who has a wonderful bedside manner. He did a whole plethora of tests (scans, pressures, cornea checks to name a few) and explained everything to me as the tests were being carried out. He was very, very informative and put me totally at ease. Can’t thank the NHS enough for their kind, caring service at Dewsbury Hospital.

    Gp made made me an urgent appointment due to been unwell rang yesterday morning to ask politely when is it going to be rudely told it’s going to be over 35 weeks not very urgent is it then told again rudely if not happy I had to go to A/E which I replied a/e is not acceptable it’s a consultation from a consultant I need went on to say what would like me to do not happy at all

    I was accompanying my 90 year old.mum who had to have an internal intimate examination to investigate possible cancer. This was traumatic for her but the consultant and nurse were as professional warm and compassionate as they could be which she appreciated.Thqnk you

  9. Review titled Top class teamwork in the Cavell Unit

    I have very recently completed nearly 6 months of chemotherapy treatment (through the haematology department) at the Cavell Unit which involved 12 treatment sessions and 14 pre sessions of blood sampling. Naturally I was extremely anxious at the start, with a diagnosis of cancer that had come as a surprise to me and my family, but I found myself in a warm, friendly and very professional arena. The ethos of the team of the chemotherapy unit was clearly the successful treatment in a relaxed very friendly atmosphere which was easily transferred to us, the patients. That they called the patients by their first names helps to set the style. All the staff very much seem to get on together and have a respect for each others roles. The keynote of this is team work and credit must be given to all and in particular to the team leaders. I will find it difficult to forget the looks on all their faces at the final bell ringing ‘ceremony’ which showed not only their pride in another patient ‘passing out’ but, dare I say, love, in their work and their patient. I, and my family, will forever be grateful to you all and I wish them all well in their personal lives as well as their professional careers.

    Had laparoscopic gall bladder surgery today at Dewsbury. All staff are absolutely fantastic, they are all amazing and so caring. From nurses to cleaners and operations theatre staff and surgeons. Top rate couldn't ask for anything better 10/10
