  1. Review titled It is not a patient friendly practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Every time you ring for an appointment to see or to speak to a GP you have to wait in the queue for more hen 30 people, considering you ring at exactly 8:30. But of course they have a lot of parients to look after but Reception staff who answer the phone act as they have a medical degree and telling you that you do not need a GP , you will have to go to Pharmacy and speak to them first. After you visited the pharmacy you have to ring them again at 8:30 the following day and tell them that pharmacy said that it is GP you have to talk to and they could not understand why the surgery send you to a pharmacy. After that you might have an appointment and have a phone call from a doctor and only in an exceptional cases you can have an appointment. I came there twice to see a nurse there and on both times there was the only one patient waiting three. There is no an after hospital care whatsoever. If you do not keep ringing them yourself and asking even for a blood test which hospital doctors to ask you to have in your surgery, nobody will contact you. The reception staff who answer the phone has to go on a course and learn how to communicate with the patients, I never saw so many rude, disrespectful and lacking of care people in one place. Of course, not all of them are like this. Once I was lucky enough to speak to a very kind receptionist Anyway, please do think twice before considering joining the surgery

  2. Review titled Caring Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

: Registered at this practice 3 months ago - Rang yesterday for a routine BP appointment with HCA, given appointment after receptionist had asked a few appropriate questions. I was happy with this and made a note of the appointment for a few days time, however, Receptionist telephoned me 15 mins after my initial call stating she had discussed my routine concerns with a clinician and squeezed me in with a HCA the following day. Seen by HCA who was extremely professional, took my BP and discussed result with GP - Rather than make future appointments, HCA took bloods, gave advice if had issues (Red Flags) and gave BP record sheet to be completed over a week, which I was to return and make an appointment with a clinician, when results would be back. All staff I met were courteous and professional in their approach. Despite continual pressures placed on General Practice and the unfair press and social media post, this Practice was here when i needed it and dealt with my health needs efficiently and effectively. Well done to you all, you are appreciated! Updated: Bloods results returned and contacted by practice 24 hours after tests, giving information of what i needed to do and what they were going to do! Excellent

Hello, not sure if you have left this review on the right practice? We do not open our telephone lines until 08.30am. Before then you would receive recorded instructions on how to access out of hours care. Waiting on hold for staff to arrive to work would not have been one of them. Please feel free to contact us between 08.30am to 6.00pm if you are a patient of ours and wish to book an appointment.

  4. Review titled Atrocious

I think I’ve now been asked to attend this surgery six times, on account I complained of hearing loss and pain in my ears. I’ve had multiple personnel examine my ears, giving varying opinions. I’ve had them syringed twice—the first time didn’t work and I was asked to return. I was then told that both eardrums were perforated and that they oughtn’t to have syringed my ears. I was told to return to see whether my ears had healed in six weeks. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get to the appointment. They accordingly made another for me for today. I arrived just minutes late only for the receptionist to tell me my slot had gone. I said, well, if the next person took my slot, surely I can go in on his. Oh, no, she said. It seems they immediately strike you out. And this although I generally arrive ahead of time and have been made to wait 30 or 40 minutes. At this point I don’t even care. They’ve been messing me around with my ears for months now. Now they won’t even carry out their duty of care to check them. I just don’t care if there’s a problem with my ears. If something really bad happens on account of all this I’ll just go to A and E. Perhaps they will care. Just horrendous.

Thank you but I think you have the wrong practice here! We don't have an upstairs... Perhaps delete this and find Parker Drive and post for them?

  6. Review titled Great practice with friendly staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My husband and i registered with Manor Park practice in 2022. When we went into the surgery to register we were greeted by the most helpful, welcoming member of staff on reception and since then all the staff at Manor Park have been brilliant. They have treated me as a human despite how busy they are and will do everything they can to help. The reception staff are always polite and always acknowledge you when you arrive at the reception - unlike a previous surgery I was registered with who would ignore you. I would particularly like to praise thr GP who i saw who was the most patient, empathetic GP I have seen in a long while. I have anxiety and when I had the need to see him about another matter, he was so reassuring. He spent time, listening to how I was feeling without sitting looking at a computer screen and arranged everything that I needed to help with my condition. I left the surgery feeling much less anxious as he had addressed my worries and put my mind at rest. I would thoroughly recommend this surgery as it has a great team.

  8. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

All the staff in Manorpark medical centre is well experienced and they know what to do. I had appointment with doctor she was very helpful and very kind. I was sitting in waiting area and observing how busy is the surgery but still providing excellent service to the patients. Doctors and nurses are coming out and taking there patients by calling there names. I want to say big thanks to receptionists who are working really hard. Reception team are taking calls non-stop and always try to help patients. Front desk staff very observed and looking after their patients very well. I saw one patient was coughing one of the receptionists came out ask her if she ok needs water or any other help. I was surprised to see that surgery have wheel chair facilities for elderly patients who cant walk properly. In the end i only want to say wish you guys all very good luck and be safe and thank you for looking after us.

  9. Review titled The Computer sess No Attitude

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 March 2023

I understand that doctors surgeries are busier than in the past, when did common decency, empathy, and care within the community get replaced with answering services and the Computer says no attitude. If you are lucky enough to get onto the answerphone waiting system, having called at 8.30 am on the dot, you had better hope that you are not caller no 20 or above in the queue as you will have little to no joy in even getting a telephone appointment. Ring back tomorrow at 8.30, the most common sentence spoken. Having called at 8.30 am on the dot this morning, as instructed by my doctor last week (having got through on the third day of trying) l was caller number 22. After having waited on hold for up to 40 minutes last week l decided to take the callback option received a callback at 9.50am. I was advised to call 111. So l did, however l was greeted with all of the qualities missing from my own doctors surgery. I was assessed and told that l would be called back, which l was in under 10 minutes. I spoke to a very caring doctor, explained that l was coughing up blood and contents of my stomach and was tod that they would contact mygp immediately so that l could be seen ASAP. My GPS receptionist called back at 15.10pm, some five hours later. Did l get to speak to my doctor, No, l was advised to call back at 8.30 am tomorrow morning to book an appointment. How can this be the standard of GP care in this day and age. No wonder Hospital waiting rooms are overloaded with sick people spreading virus's. Shame on you Manor Park Surgery

  10. Review titled Humanity lacking here

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Enyozia Ogwuda - Posted on 22 February 2023

I would put negative stars if possible. I rang today starting from 8:25 (I know it's an 8:30 start). Managed to speak to a receptionist at about 9:15. What happened to compassion??? This lady seemed already stressed from the get go. I tried to explain my situation about my daughter but she seemed to have am antra which she kept repeating to me... Ring 8:30, no doctor to see you, ring 8:30, no doctor to see you... She did not even stop to listen to me, just kept on talking over me. Did I say talking, shrieking over me... I know I cannot talk about my daughter's struggles on this forum but for someone who should show some compassion at the end of the line, I found she had increased my stress levels just talking to her.
