  1. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Patricia Lismore - Posted on 11 April 2024

Following my diagnosis of A Fib the treatment I have received from all the staff at Launceston Medical Centre has been brilliant. I have been supported with my medication, especially the INR appointments. Today I tried the new online appointment system & was very happy with the quick response & satisfactory agreement made with the Dr. very satisfied patient.

  4. Review titled Increasing pain and unable to see my GP

    by Hairbear69 - Posted on 01 January 2024

I had been suffering from pain in my Hip and leg so after nearly an hour on the phone lottery and finally getting an appointment in October and was seen by the surgery Physiotherapist who after a brief examination diagnosed sciatica and gave me details of a website for exercises after logging on I found exercises which I was unable to complete due to a failed Elbow surgery and Shoulder problems (which I'm already receiving physiotherapy at Launceston Hospital). Then a few weeks later, I was seen by A Doctor about my Heart complaint and again I mentioned my Hip Pain had Increased after an examination commented that my Bum muscles were tight, and referred me for physiotherapy. With the pain in my hip getting worse to the point of not being able to walk very far I again spent time in line on the phone for an appointment the receptionist was insistent that I had a callback appointment but after my persistence was finally given an in-person appointment in December with a different Doctor who prescribed me some very strong pain relief and x-rays which were done 2 days later. Today I was in town so I thought I would try and get a follow-up appointment. I went up to the receptionist to make the appointment once I had explained that I wanted to see the same Doctor for continuity of care and the receptionist said that there was an appointment in 45minutes but the other receptionist said that the appointment could not be issued, I explained that I wanted to be seen by the same Doctor I was told that I could not come into the surgery unless the Doctor requested it after a telephone consultation so I was given a telephone consultation for the first week of January. This will mean that the Doctor will not be able to examine me to see if I have more movement or less. I would have thought that once you are seen by a Doctor the follow-up would be an in-person one, as I have no decrease in pain and the painkillers are not that effective at reducing the pain for a sustained period.

  5. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

What is going on with the NHS lately. You cannot speak with a doctor!! Firstly called the surgery, as I had a letter to speak to my doctor about blood test results, to which they said they had no appointments available. I then had to book in more bloods, due to part of my previous bloods being lost/unusable, clearly not handled properly! Was told to book an appointment to speak to a doctor then. Then to be told they still had no appointments!! So they then booked me in with Livi, after waiting 45 minutes for the doctor to call me, they cancel!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!

  6. Review titled Absolutely rubbish

I called at 830 for my 10 year old daughter and she is having chest pains, when I rang I got the option of a call back telling my my place in the cue will be held then il get a call back. I took this option then over an hour later I decided call give them another call ( went straight to number 1 in the cue) to then be told all appointments have been taken and now all she gets is a call from a duty doctor at some point today! Not impressed whatsoever

  7. Review titled Outstanding pharmacy service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Recently was switched to blister packs and cannot praise the blister pack pharmacist enough. Extremely helpful, managed my needs in a way that left me feeling heard and valued. Blister packs have changed my life and the service I’ve received from pharmacy is commendable.

Called to chase a prescription, after 1.06 mins got through the call centre options, to have option to book flu vaccine or talk to patient advisor. Selected patient advisor...'hello we are currently busy, goodbye!!. 1 hour been trying, what a joke, but not funny.

  9. Review titled No medication

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 August 2023

On 31st July I requested on line some medication like I normally do. It's still pending. Today I ran out of one of the medications. A couple of weeks ago I had to chase up on some antibiotics for and infection Which started on the Sunday, the antibiotics arrived on the Thursday. The infection having taken hold. I realize last week you were short staffed due to sickness, surely you must have a back up plan when this happens and staff can be called in.
