  1. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Lesley Jane Cooper - Posted on 04 July 2023

GP has prescribed two separate prescriptions for medications that are no longer available, and it has taken two phone calls to GP practice and two journeys to the pharmacy to try and resolve this matter. Then to find out from the pharmacist that GP will have known the medications were not available when prescriptions were issued. I still do not have my medication and may have to make another appointment to see the GP.

  2. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 June 2023

Whenever you ring for an appointment it is always the same response. You can be on hold for more than 20 minutes and are then told there are no appointments and if you try to get one in the coming days you are told to ring the next day at 8. Then you go through the same thing again. So frustrating that you end up having to ring 111. Not good use of nhs finances

  3. Review titled Obstructive and unhelpful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Awful. Refused to refer a child for an autism assessment on the basis they don't know them personally. But they'll refer adults they also don't know personally for the same assessment. They have refused to issue my daughter a fit note, without it she will lose her job. They are saying they don't do it which is rubbish because their website says they do. Her workmates have been issued the same note by their GPs with no issue. She is being told different things every time she contacts them, nobody seems to know what's going on. This practice needs to seriously improve how they treat their patients.

Quick to sum up and respond to the problem. This is the second time I’ve had to use the phone service and I remain very impressed with the professional caring and informative manner of the surgery staff

  5. Review titled New website issues

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 March 2023

The old website you could find a form to send a message to the surgery. They would not always respond but sometimes they would. I can't find this feature at all on the new website which is not helpful as I need to communicate with the surgery in writing and don't always get chance in the week.

  6. Review titled Extremely Disappointing Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lianne - Posted on 13 September 2022

Upon calling the surgery I was told there are no appointments for the next week so I need to ring back the same time tomorrow. I made them aware that my appointment didn't have to be this week but was told they could not book me an appointment unless I called back same time tomorrow. I have rang back only to be told once again all of the appointments for the next week have been taken and I need to try back again tomorrow. I asked why they could not book further than a week in advance and was told due to the number of missed appointments they were not booking further than a week in advance, so I am now being penalised for the down fall of complete strangers. I have rang both days at my earliest opportunity (lunch break) as someone who starts work at 7am it seems by the time I can ring there is no way they can help me. The difficulty level to obtain an appointment at the GP surgery has always been high but this new rule has taken it to the extreme.

  7. Review titled not even acceptable'practice'

Rated 1 star out of 5

by my name is Pamela Wilson - Posted on 13 September 2022

my prescription requests I make an appointment for a review on the 18/9/22. This is a Sunday!. I telephoned the surgery on 12/9/2022, to make an appointment. I was 5th in line!. 30 minutes later I spoke to a receptionist who informed me that as she didn't know if they would be working on the Monday 19th September, the official bank holiday given for the late Queens funeral, she couldn't give me an appointment on any day!!! and I was to phone the following day, the 13th. The line was engaged from 10.15 a.m. There was a response at 11.45 a.m. I was 5th in line. 35 minutes later, I was told there were no appointments left. I enquired about the number of receptionists on duty, I had made the same enquiry the day before, again, only two, as two were off sick. It took less than 2 minutes to deal with me, but for some reason it had taken more than 12 minutes to deal with each of the five people ahead of me in the queue, on both days!!! I am to phone again tomorrow, before 9.00 a.m., any takers on the chances of my success????

  8. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 January 2023

Very hard to get same day telephone appointment due to long waiting times on phone 4. I’ve spoke to 4 different drs about the same issues but they still don’t know why I am ringing, do not have results or have lost results. Have to explain the same issue to each different doctor again and again. Prescription is never ready on time or items missing. And some of the reception staff are rude and unprofessional and give you the wrong information.

  9. Review titled Incompetent and very frustrating

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mohammed Ahmad - Posted on 24 September 2022

I wanted to renew medical exemption certificate and was told 'needs to be signed by a doctor' event though the form itself says practice staff can sign it as it asks for 'position if not doctor'. I was told to come back in 2 days and collect the form - which wasn't signed but stamped (why couldn't this be done on my original day??). I queried that it wasn't signed and told its OK. Today, I received the form back with a letter saying it couldn't be processed as not signed. This is incredibly incompetent and a massive waste of time and correlates with my general experience of this practice.

  10. Review titled Impossible to organise timely appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 August 2022

My experience is the same as other members of my own and extended family and that experience of being able to secure an appointment via a telephone consultation is dire. Having said that it needs to be acknowledged that once you are actually able to speak to a GP either via phone or in person the care is good. But and this is a big but if you are thinking of joining this surgery then think again as the ability to consult with a doctor is appalling. Whatever non urgent symptom you may be having can escalate unnecessarily leaving you to end up in casualty at hospital because often there are no 'non urgent' appointments left for 2 weeks at a time! When asking the receptionists what can we do as 2 weeks is a long time to wait we are routinely told "Try calling back in 2 weeks when the next block of appointments are ready" If you are willing or able to do that and do call back in 2 weeks do not be surprised to be told the exact same thing. Just think, that is a whole month you have not been able to get advice leaving you feeling not just frustrated but worried that the same will happen again on the 6th week. I know GP's are under pressure, I feel for them truly but this cannot be right? I queried a particular medication which had contraindications relating to my own health but as I could not even get through to speak to anyone I opted to leave it out. How many other people must be doing that or worse self medicating? I do not overly use my GP at a drop of a hat for nothing as I'm aware of the pressures involved and I view myself as practical, sensible and articulate but I seriously worry about those in more vulnerable sectors: age related, mental health and even people with hearing problems who would not stand a chance with this practice when trying to get help. When you walk in because you cannot get through on the phone for upto and over an hour and speak to receptionists in the hope they will try to resolve your issues you are met with staff who are unsure, guarded who are waiting for patients to become volatile in their frustration and you'll often walk out without any answers as to what to do from there. It appears the bog standard answer is "You could try ringing for an emergency appt tomorrow from 8-8.30" Good luck with that! My husband waiting so long on the phone (an hour and 10 minutes) that he drove there with the phone still ringing. He said, he was told they were busy but found people stood talking about non medical conversations in the back and was told to go home and try again in the morning at 8am! Someone else immediately followed him to the desk frustrated with a raised voice but not shouting and told he was threatening them, which was untrue. I don't know what the answer is but this surgery is not being run efficiently for either staff or patients which doubles the calls to them unnecessarily. You must re-instate online booking especially for those with hearing problems too. Please get help to improve your services.
