My GP was really informative and gave me some information after the consultation. I was seen straight away too and was able to get a blood test the same day.

I have to highly praise the practice, they have been great all round, from the communication at the first phone call to my actual appointment with the doctor. I have nothing but praise for them.

I arrived today for an appointment with the GP ,that the practice had arranged ,only to be told it had been cancelled, receptionist said they’d tried to ring me but I had not answered ,bearing in mind my landline has an answer phone and I have been off work ill for last few days ,also no missed calls on my mobile ,which is always by my side ,I have just gone through breast cancer surgery so not impressed as I had to get a taxi ,costing me £4.30 to get there. Also there was no problem when the practice rang me to make the review appointment initially on my mobile

  5. Review titled Medication order

Rated 1 star out of 5

What is happening to this surgery? Due to certain circumstances i had to order 3 months subscription for my husband. I ordered it via the nhs app and wrote a detailed note to the gp. Result , only 1 months supply. Called the surgery, the receptionist ordered further 2 months, result another month supply. Again called the aurgery, ordered for the third time , result, again missing medication. Tomorow would be my fourth time calling the surgery. Lets see what happens. Whenever we reach the surgery , have to wait long time for the appointments. I have not seen the main gps since pre covid. My family has literally given up in trying to get an appointment at the surgery.

Dear Patient, Further to your review, I have done some investigation into why your husband did not receive the medication requested. Please ask your husband to contact the surgery to speak to me regarding this as without consent from your husband I cannot discuss this with you. Kind regards, Julie Rowe Practice Manager

  6. Review titled No appointment

After a couple of months trying to get a smear test from the nurse I am still unable to get one that is convenient for me as I work 9 to 5pm in Manchester. So today I tried again as I have a day off work next Monday, however yet again nothing for Monday. I was offered 8th in the evening. I thought ok evening might be ok depending on the time. I was told 2 appointments one 3.20 the other 4.20 or something. I thought to myself that isn't evening that's afternoon. Could someone tell me why the nurses when they have them can't do late evenings and where else can I book a routine smear test as obviously I don't want to miss it. I await your reply.

Dear Patient, I am sorry you have had a negative experience of the practice. Unfortunately, we only had a very part time nurse but have now employed two new experienced practice nurses, who are able to provide earlier and later appointments. In Oldham there is an enhanced access service daily between the hour of 6.30pm and 8.30pm and weekends, which you can book by calling 01612713180. Kind regards, Julie Rowe Practice Manager

I just cannot fault this practice or the doctors and staff. They have been brilliant with me and helping every step of the way whilst trying to find a diagnosis. I cannot thank the doctors enough.

  10. Review titled Incompetent

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 October 2022

I asked for an appointment on the 03 Oct 2022 but after 1 hour waiting was told there were no appointments. Went to hospital and was diagnosed with Cellulitis and given antibiotics. These antibiotics did not clear so made another appointment having waited 1 hour 30 mins to get through to be told only a nurse appointment available. Given another 5 days antibiotics .The nurse was a bit off hand at the beginning .These have not shifted it so made an appointment with the practice after another massive wait. Again could only see the nurse. Unfortunately due to public transport problems I arrived 10 mins late. Was told they would not see me so I told them i was not happy. There was no relenting in there insistence they would not see me.Tried other areas of health with no joy . Cant believe they would not see me as the nurse in my previous appointment only came out to call me in 6 mins after my due appointment time so it obviously doed not work both ways. Also I have previusly waited up to 25 minutes to see the doctor pre covid and have never seen him or her since .I never moaned about having to wait. This practice is incompetent in how it is run .Another example of incompetence is that I am on the vulnerable list to have covid and flu vaccines but have never been called in for any at all. To cap everything off earlier in the year they asked my by text to take my own blood pressure when I would have thought that was there job.How can they ask me to do that but not ask me to come in for jabs. The receptionists are arrogant, incompetent and out of touch with what the oatient requires or wants. This practice needs to be seriously looked at by the authorities.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you have had a negative experience at the practice. We have now had a long chat about the issues you have experienced, and we answered the points you made. Telephones: We have been experiencing issues with the telephones for sometime and have escalated this to the provider. Blood Pressure Reading Some patients do take their own blood pressure readings at home and this is why you may occasionally be sent a text message to request a reading. This will be reviewed by a clinician and further action taken if needed. Flu & Covid We are currently calling patients in for flu and Covid vaccinations but as we have many patients to call, we have to do this in small batches so we can provide enough appointments. This is why you have yet to be called. Doctors and Nurses We have built a team of clinicians at practice which includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Healthcare Assistants, Doctors, Advanced Care Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physician Associates. This is so we can provide more appointments and navigate patients to the appropriate care as per NHS 5 Year Forward Plan. I feel our chat was positive and you are more informed and hopefully you will not have any further negative experiences at the practice. Kind regards, Julie Rowe Practice Manager
