  1. Review titled Excellent messaging service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Whilst this surgery does have problems with answering the phone permanently engaged . I used the messaging service to report an ear problem and the need to be seen. Amazed that before I had logged out of my computer less than 5 mins . I was contacted by the surgery offering an appointment next day. Excellent service.

  2. Review titled Poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I went to the practice for a routine blood test, the nursing assistant did not ask my name or date of birth or any information that would have given her the clarity of who I was. Everyone always struggles to take my blood due to poor veins, but this person appeared over confident she did not give any explanation of what she was going to do, she just pushed the needle in, resulting in blood spurting out the side of the needle. No apologies my arm is bruised and with a swelling. Very disappointed in the lack of care/ compassion/ training

This practice has had such a lot going on change of computer lack of appointments. Whilst the phone system is not manned enough so causes frustration. When you use the email or text system prompt reply and actions .

  4. Review titled Poor excuse for a surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

They continued to cancel my appointment and kick it down the road, then when I had a last minute issue come up that I wanted to change my appointment, they had no way to change it but to only cancel it. You can call but I phoned 6 times waiting 45 minutes on hold one time and 2 hours on hold another time to only be cut off. The rest of the time they set their number to busy, the fact that the only option is to leave a cancellation message shows how they feel about their clients. They know they can just ignore people as there is not a lot of choice in this area, absolute shambles and anytime you go in there all just in the reception chatting away. It’s absolute chaos.

  5. Review titled Can't get to see a Doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ann Baxter - Posted on 18 January 2024

I cannot get through to the surgery on the phone today 18/01/24. I cannot use the app as not accepting messages. My husband called personally to the surgery and the gates are closed so can't get in. I have had symptoms of flu for a week now and cannot get any help. I am 70 years old. What is happening????

  6. Review titled Awful communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

Patient access withdrawn with no notice at the beginning of December. No way of getting a prescription to the usual medication online delivery company. Can only get to local pharmacies. Told would be back up & running from 18th December. Patient access says gp still not linked. Sent admin query to ask what is happening. Told need to visit surgery with photo id to gain access. After visiting you need to fill in the original form you did when registering with the practice & then it needs processing again. Each person needs to go in individually so couldn't sort husband's. He can't attend easily with work commitments. Why wasn't this communicated in the original message? Caskgate Street are an absolute shambles & their communication is appalling. They do not answer the phone...you are on hold for a good 30mins -1hour & may eventually get through. You can not get an appointment easily & it is easier to go to the local UTC to get help. Would not recommend this surgery at all.

  7. Review titled .....no notice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2023

Patient Access withdrawn with no notice whatsoever - I fill my prescriptions online and to be given some form of notice I would have thought would be a minimum - really poor. Can only conclude that no thought has gone in to this at all. I appreciate that they must be going through a lot of issues there as there are so few surgeries in Gainsborough and their staff to patient ratio must be pretty high - but surely someone should have seen this coming?

  8. Review titled Awful service

I have been with the surgery for a matter of months, i suffer bipolar, so i need medication. I have had nothing but trouble getting repeat prescriptions or the lose the request. Needless to say i go with out for a few days which is not good at all, no matter which method i use they still manage to delay medication.

  9. Review titled Unacceptable

Rated 1 star out of 5

Im asthmatic and think I have a chest infection. I’ve held off but can’t no more. I’m struggling for breath when I move. Makes me panic. I’ve rang 45 times today to be cut off immediately every single time. I don’t even have an inhaler as I put in a repeat for 2 inhalers each 1 for a different purpose and for whatever reason they didn’t send me my reliever. If I go to A&E I’m told it’s not an emergency see your GP, I’ve tried all day so do I now need to get to the point of pneumonia and an ambulance ? Like do they just turn phones off from a certain time or …. Like it’s every time you ring. Let’s face it we don’t ring doctors for a casual chat, it’s obviously something worrying / painful for the person ringing yet ypur faced with nothing but an end tone !! Loads of confidence. Hope I don’t have an asthma attack ! What has happened it was never like this year ago. Gutted. No faith no more.

  10. Review titled Trying to contact is a joke

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 July 2023

Get a text from the to call as they have a message for me so i ring, engaged, try about 25 mins and eventually it rings and i go onto the hold section for 35 minute, someone answers and it goes dead. now on hold again for god knows how long.. happens every time i ring. My advise is if you are in a cue and have had the courtisy to wait, if the phone goes dead they know the number ringing so would be nice if they could call back to save the person having to wait another 3o mins to an hour..
