Review titled Very confusing message

I have been unable to contact the surgery today to request a routine appointment because you have 'reached capacity' for online queries for the day. Trying to find alternative methods of communication I have read that the system will be changing from 14th March, but it seems to have already changed as there is no method telephone contact available. Has the system changed 6 months ago and no-one has bothered to include the year or update the message from 'will be' to 'has been'? When mentioning a change that will happen on a particular date it would sensible to include the year and to update the message when that date has passed.

I received a message informing me that my telephone consultation would be pm today. Little did I know that it would eventually arrive at nearly 8pm. I explained that I had been advised by my podiatrist to contact my doctor due to the fact I had spent thousands of pounds and years trying to get rid of a fungal nail infection to no avail. The conversation was not particularly forthcoming, maybe due to the lateness of the day but it came across that the gentleman GP thought it was just a vanity issue for me and explained that even though they could take clippings and get them tested to be perfectly honest if I didn't have diabetes he didn't think there was much point in me persuing this route. I did explain that I was not particularly happy with the outcome of the conversation especially as the infection had not been seen by anyone at the doctors surgery. I am not usually one to complain but just felt the conversation I had today felt like I wasn't being particularly listened to and was extremely unproductive.

Why is it when you call during the day, the Secretary Line is either closed or transfers you to a mailbox that's full and then cuts you off? How are you supposed to speak to anyone at the surgery? Still waiting on Fit to Exercise notes since request on 7th July 2023!!!

Since changing their booking system it seems impossible to get through to anyone after 12pm and you have to wait until the following day. I wasn’t aware that illnesses only occurred in the morning and this should be addressed so the practice can be contacted when needed

I found out today my repeat prescription was sent to the wrong place who in turn sent for items from a different source, not the manufacturer. My repeat prescription items are marked on the GP’s computer system with the company’s address, so some person has made a decision to ignore this. My prescription was delayed, I didn’t get the items I required. This in the long term if happened nationally would put small pharmacies and some company’s out of business. So patients no longer have a choice.

This surgery is stating that they are now taking on new patients. But the existing patients cannot get through to them to get an appointment by phone or online which they keep directing you to. It is so frustrating when all you want to do is make an appointment. It is an easy way for them to field all their patients to either 111 or outpatients at the hospitals. I currently need antibiotics for an enlarged eardrum which is painful and confirmed by pharmacist, but will have to bother the emergency dept at the hospital now.

Contacted by text for annual medication review by doctor, picked up blood test form, made an appointment with nurse at surgery, had tests taken by a really professional and kindly nurse. Really efficient service.

Review titled How hard is it to get a fit to exercise letter

Both myself and husband have been trying to get a fit to exercise form for nearly 3 weeks now! Several online requests made, 3 visits to the surgery and several phone calls made to answerphones that cut you off stating the mailbox is full and they’re still not done. Well, husbands was however not correct so needs redoing and still no sign of mine. Plus you want to charge £60 each letter! Why is this when a fit to work is £10? This is madness! All we want to do is to be able to join a gym, trying to get fitter. Shocking service!!!

It is impossible to contact the practice by phone. You can be number one in the queue for over an hour. It’s impossible to get test results and you’re directed to the only service, which the tells you it’s unavailable due to being over capacity. The service provided appears to be non-existent.

Its next to impossible to talk to anyone at this practice and get an appointment or simple referral done for example. The lines are always down even during the recorded open times. Its got so bad now that the staff just don't seem to care - it used to be a really good practice but seems completely mismanaged now and is putting the health of thousands of people at risk with no hope of it improving. NHS England needs to take some action.
