  1. Review titled Incredible Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ariel Healthcare - Posted on 15 March 2023

Best Healthcare Surgery I have ever been to. All of the Staff are caring, kind, respectful and above all highly professional. I cannot thank them enough. After seeing a GP this week I feel more positive than I have done for a very long time. With all that you have had to do this last few weeks with the closure of a nearby surgery, you have allbeen amazing. Thank you!!!

  2. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Excellent! I really can not fault this practice, the reception staff are wonderful, kind and make you feel totally at ease and the female practitioners who I and my family have been seen by are fantastic. The one complaint I had with a GP was dealt with quickly and effectively with the practice manager contacting me to make a personal apology and assure me that the matter would be dealt with. Highly recommended this surgery!

  3. Review titled Awful experiences time after time

Rated 1 star out of 5

Myself and my mum have been registered with this practise for 8 years. We have had problems time and time again with unhelpful and frankly rude staff, wether over the phone or visiting in person. Prescriptions are accepted days and days after they have been sent in meaning medications don’t get to us within time and we run out with no availability of an urgent filler prescription. The phones are hardly ever answered and when they are you have incredibly long waits. Trying to get an appointment to see a doctor or even talk to a doctor here is ridiculous and have only gotten beyond impossible since they have merged and taken on so many extra patients when they weren’t dealing well with the patients they previously had. I am over and over again disgusted by the treatment received at this practice. I am in my 20’s and suffer with my health conditions as well as chronic pain which has caused me to have severe depression. My experience trying to get help for my chronic pain and depression whilst crying and asking for help from a gp, I was told to go away, calm down, sleep on it and come back when I was feeling brighter despite mentioning I was suicidal. This is totally unacceptable and disgusting behaviour!

  4. Review titled One failure after another

Rated 1 star out of 5

Unable to get a doctors appointment within a month even when it is at the request of the doctor When you do finally get an appt these Prearranged appointments are cancelled or changed at late notice and more than once! The nurses are only trained for limited duties so you can’t get travel vaccinations and are told to go to Exeter! Exeter travel clinic advise that it is the responsibility of the doctors surgery to provide the government funded travel vaccinations.

Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately we are unable to comment on individual circumstances and Anonymous feedback makes it difficult to investigate so we would encourage you to contact the practice to discuss your concerns. Over the last month, we have had a unavoidable absence within the team due to sickness. Cancelling appointments is not something we do lightly and it would only happen if and when we have exhausted all other opportunities to provide you with a safe appointment with an appropriate clinician. Our team work incredibly hard, seeing the most vulnerable of patients and therefore the safety of our patients and staff remain a top priority when they are unwell. National changes in cover for travel vaccines means our nurses are no longer allowed to administer private vaccines for travel. Whilst we understand this is frustrating as you to need to travel further afield, we do offer vaccines that are covered as part of NHS care. Again, we would encourage you to contact the Practice so we can look into this for you. Kind Regards Ariel Healthcare

  5. Review titled Merging was a massive mistake

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Before the merger, I was previously registered at both surgeries at different times. I decided to move from the Fore Street centre due to increasing negligence from both the GPS and receptionists. Medications were prescribed to my very young child (at the time) that was intended for a much older child. I transferred both myself and my child to the St Mary's site. Couldn't fault them. Any issue I had concerning either was us was dealt with quickly and thoroughly. I have since needed to make two appointments since the merger, both for my child. The first one, I couldn't fault the care we received. The second time, I was disgusted with the way the Dr spoke to me. He tried to contradicted himself. He was rude and abrupt. The initial problem resulted in needing to take our child to a&e. No advice was given over the phone. As long as I am dealt with by the st Mary's site staff, I have no issue with the surgery. I always feel like every effort has in been to solve the issue we've gone in for. However, if we're dealt with by Fore Street site (sometimes they are on the urgent care staff) I can guarantee we're not dealt with in the way we should be. Antibiotics are prescribed for a virus. Two of the doctors refuse to listen to you when you inform them certain things are working better than others. You're just a number to them and if you're not one of their named patients, they can't get rid of you quick enough. You're told to make an appointment with your named gp. The receptionists have no respect for patients. If you try to book an appointment in advance, you're told to wait. There have been occasions where there have been doctors refuse to see patients, even though they are urged to speak to them that day.

  6. Review titled Worst practice I've ever experienced

Rated 1 star out of 5

When you phone up you are lucky to get dialled through, most of the time they hang up or it doesn't go through. When you do get through and you are only 1 in the queue it still takes them nearly 10 minutes to answer the phone. You walk into the surgery and the person behind the desk has their back to you and after saying morning to them they ignore you and walk off. They change their minds on how long it takes to do a fit note or how long assessments take. There answer to asking for a more urgent consultation is 'phone an ambulance' or wait 3 weeks, no compromise in between. Some of the staff are friendly despite the others being rude and unhelpful. But overall I would never ever sign up to this doctors surgery
