I sent pictures of white spots on my tonsils but there was some glare and I stated there was white spots to be told there was none and was more swollen on one side.

  2. Review titled Failed to treat my son's infection

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 March 2024

Tried to get seen with symptoms of infection but the the receptionist refused. As per usualy ended having to seek treatment from our of hours service. Don't know why I expected anything less from a practice whoose antibiotic prescriptions rates fall extremely far below the national and local average.

  3. Review titled Vindictive receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

Rang to ask for a consultation for my son who has strep A, he has just finished antibiotics and still has a bad cough and fever. After taking his name the receptionist then decided to say they were at full capacity. They then decided to lie about what the prerecorded message said.

  4. Review titled Terrible Poor Very Worrying!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Ariel healthcare are unable to provide healthcare to the local community. My experiences are I have felt very unwell recently with on going cardiac issues and queries about medication but I see no purpose in repeating what has already been said. A thread of despair and need obviously exists in the community. And that is disgraceful.

  5. Review titled Awful and not fit for purpose!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 February 2024

We have recently moved house where we had a perfectly working GP practice, and felt we were being cared for. Since being here and having the only option to register with Ariel Healthcare it's been nothing but a nightmare. We have been trying, struggling, desperately frustrated by trying to book appointments. My wife has regular 6 monthly bloods tests. When she got to the appointment, which was over a month late, she was asked by the Nurse what she needed the test for? There was no record of her past history! At the end the Nurse said if you don't hear any thing assume all is OK. No This is not OK. Our previous surgery used to send a text message from our own GP with the results and what, if anything may need action or change. Does no one at this practice care? Healthcare! What do they know about that? They are putting the lives of people at risk. Totally disgusted and unfortunately we have no other options. It's disgraceful. This practice is certainly not fit for purpose, it provides mediocre care at best. We both feel vulnerable and worried about the situation. Where do we go, and who do we turn to for medical assistance? A&E and over burden them or ? This review was written by us out of desperation in the hope that someone out there will listen, read and most of all help! It's not just word's, this is reality and it's scary!

  6. Review titled Basically useless.....

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Sort of friendly, but completely useless...Doctor showed absolutely no interest in my needs whatsoever, and even dismissed some of them, eventually said she would refer a steroidal injection for my knee, which absolutely never happened, I doubt that she even actually referred it.....this level of non help has become the absolute normal....

  7. Review titled Appalling service provided

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Stacey K - Posted on 24 January 2024

The GPs here either don’t do what they say they are going to do. Or actually make decisions about your medical needs without even talking to you. 2 years ago it said I needed a referral to haematology. I was promised on 18th December this would happen and had to chase in January 2024 to get it done. I now have to wait 19 weeks to even be able to book an appointment. How is that acceptable. They also make decisions about medication without even calling you to discuss when you have asked for a call back. I’m interested to see how many drs can make diagnosis of people’s ailments after a 3 minute conversation with the receptionist! Utterly appalling in every sense

  8. Review titled Unusable Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2023

Used to be a really easy appointment service, never had any problems as a healthy and infrequent visitor, only going for routine appointments as requested by the surgery when needed. Now, Ariel have taken over, the admin team are friendly but have no idea what's going on, can't book appointments and don't want to even tell you when they've out you on a waiting list. When you have been added to a wait list, they can't tell you how long it is. Directed me to services that clearly advertise they cannot help me, as my GP is supposed to provide the service. No individual concern or regard to my situation. Also thought it was appropriate to send a text to my mobile about a very personal issue - not sensitive, not kind and not compliant with patient confidentiality. Sent an email to the practice manager with feedback about the service and never had a reply. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to go privately to a GP, but I feel sorry for all those that can't. I won't ever be using the service again. Only hope that the capitation the surgery receives for me being registered and never having to use them actually goes towards helping some of the other unfortunate patients who are stuck with this surgery. Ariel taking over is the worst thing that ever happened to friendly community healthcare.

  10. Review titled Very poor quality of care compared to before the merger.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 September 2023

I waited 5 or 6 weeks for a telephone appointment. The GP showed no interest in my healthcare concerns and made me feel like a nuisance. I was forced to consult a private GP and received this sort of service most people would expect from a GP. My previous experience of Tawstock medical centre had always been very positive, however the merger with Essex House seems to have resulted in bringing the quality of care down to the lowest possible denominator. Patients used to have a designated GP ...this is no longer the case, therefore there is no continuity for long term health issues. The reception staff at the old Tawstock site continue to try to offer excellent service, although since the merger they do seem to be under significant pressure. Overall in my recent experience I could not recommend Aerial Healthcare to anyone.
