  1. Review titled Three visits to get a blood test

Rated 1 star out of 5

by nick monks - Posted on 13 May 2024

I need a blood test. I could find no information on blood tests for Skelmersdale walk in or telephone no to ring or e mail address So drove to the walk in to ask. I was told that blood tests were done mon to fri 9am to 12pm. I went back next day at 9:15 am. And was told blood tests were done 8 am to 12 pm. And all ten maximum blood tests were already done that day from 8am. I now have to go back for a third day in a row. And i'm a professional person who works. I leave you to draw your own conclusions

  2. Review titled Feeling better

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I came with numerous symptoms and was very unwell. It did take over 4 hours plus to get seen but the nurse practitioner was brilliant. I was sent away with my prescription and some care advise, can’t tell you how much better I am today. Thank you

  3. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We were away in Southport when my baby became unwell. I took her to the walk in clinic and was pleasantly surprised by the short wait time and the pleasant staff that we met. The receptionist was friendly, the health care assistant assessed my baby within minutes of being there and then after about an hours wait we saw a lovely doctor. He was very thorough and excellent with my baby. Thank you to all there for all you do. An excellent service.

  4. Review titled Child in pain/ crying

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Visited with my child who Is 9. He had been ill with a very bad cough, earache pain and a viral wheeze (he is a very bad asthmatic). Went into the reception, gave details and asked to take a seat. Estimated time to be seen was 4hrs. This was obviously a very long time for anyone/ child or adult but especially hard when the child is on the autistic spectrum and is in obvious pain. Was triaged within around 20 mins where we explained the problem and my child explained how much pain he was in due to his ears. Told to take a seat within waiting room again. For the next 4 hours I can only describe it as such an upsetting experience. My poor child cried for almost the whole time we where there (which turned out to be just over 5 hours) he was in so much pain with his ears . The only time he wasn't crying was when we was asleep! Despite numerous pleas for help to be seen sooner as my child was in pain it fell on deaf ears (pardon the pun). Comments where even made by other patients regarding how my child was obviously in need of being seen in a more timely manner. When we did get in I will say that the lady we saw did an excellent job of quickly issuing antibiotics due to a very bad chest infection and 2 puss infected ears and a burst eardrum! No wonder my normally brave 9yr old was crying. I realise that staff and the NHS are very underfunded. I realise the staff are trying there best but I would ask that sometimes a little common sense should come into play. We should not be expecting any child to sit for over 5 hrs crying in pain! I would also love to also see more understanding in the setting on how difficult it is for a child with ASD or any other learning difficulty to sit in a busy enviroment (in pain) for that amount of time
