The Priory Hospital Southampton has established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care and specialises in the management and treatment of mental health problems including addictions and eating disorders.
Acute mental health
Our staff team has the expertise and experience to treat most acute mental health conditions. These include depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive states, schizophrenia and all major acute psychiatric illnesses. Specialist therapy programmes are offered including cognitive behavioural therapy and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).
Addiction treatment programme
The service specialises in addiction treatment for substance and behavioural dependency, such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, relationships and shopping.
Addictions treatment programme includes:
- Free assessment to explore the problem in more detail without obligation to continue into treatment
- 12 months free aftercare after 12-step programme
- Free family support during and post treatment
Eating disorders unit
The eating disorder service provides effective programmes for the successful treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and other related conditions. The specially developed eating disorders programme focuses on the psychological, social, behavioural and physical sides of the illness.
We offer free assessments and free telephone advice to GPs for eating disorder patients between 9.00 am - 5.00 pm.
Child and adolescent mental health service
The Priory Hospital Southampton has two separate CAMHS units:
Lodgehill – 9 bedded general adolescent
Haseley – 11 bedded high dependency including a 2 bedded enhanced HDU

Suitable for young people aged 12 to 18

Specialist therapy programmes offered include cognitive behaviour and family therapy

Education delivered by skilled teaching staff, with onsite assessment and examination facilities
